Default Dead Battery - Frunk Access - Noco

In my infinite wisdom, I didn't pop the frunk on one of my vehicle in storage. Of course, its the one that had the charger reset and kill the battery. Has anyone used a Noco to pop the frunk? I have a gbx155 (big boy) for trucks that I placed in override; which is used when a battery is totally dead, and it won't pop the frunk. I've tried it key off, key in accessory mode and ensuring that the fuse switch is fully disengaged out. I have zero desire to push the vehicle out of the warehouse by myself and use jumper cables to pop the frunk. I've seen videos of people using jump boxes to open a frunk so I'm at a loss as to why it isn't working.

Make sure you are trying to pop it open with the key fob, it wont pop open using the side sill lever even with a battery hooked up.

Good deal. I’ll try that when I’m able to swing back over there today.

Unfortunately it didn’t work. All I received was a red outline of the shield on the FOB. Then, the genius that I am, wasn’t paying attention when I was pressing the switch back in and pressed it passed the stop. In my defense it didn’t give any resistance. It just get going until my finger was passed the plastic channel.

Guess it’s going to be legs day soon getting it on the truck ramp to head to the dealership. Poor S/T. You deserved better than to be neglected.

I spoke to a tech and what I was told is that that fuse switch is a dummy plug on the GT3RS and S/T. If I want to pop the frunk I have to take the wheel off and use the manual release. They had this issue on a collectors S/T.

So sorry to see you came across this issue as it seems so many have in the past...just wanted to touch on a future solution so you'll hopefully never run into this problem again and for those who also might want to preemptively set something up to avoid it happening to them...but we offer a starting harness for our Microstart jump starters that can be run to an external location from the battery in the frunk so that when this happens you have an external location to plug in the jump starter and connect to the battery..this in turn allows you to possibly jump start the car or simply energize the system so you can open the frunk. The Harness itself is about 45" so has enough slack to be routed without issue(example shown below) and our XP-20 provides more than ample power to get everything going. .
Hopefully it's something you'll find as a helpful option.

Best regards,

I found this youtube short last night. This is next on the list before hauling it. Looks promising!

There is always an emergency cable on every Porsche model.

This issue was resolved when the flatbed arrived. A technician at the dealership had made this cable and popped it into a fuse. He then turned the electronics on with his Noco via the cable and we were able to pop open the trunk.

Also, regarding that short I posted earlier, that will only work for a gt3rs because of the placement of the radiators. On the S/T there is a radiator there and you would have to jack or lift the car and remove the wheel well paneling to get to the emergency cable.

would you mind measuring from the end of the positive clamp to the negative clamp? I’m trying to establish if fbr noco gbx155 has long enough cables for my needs but I can’t find the info online!

thank you!
