Nah bruh, 911 owners need to subsidize sales failures along the product line.

More to come from the future.

I found some old lawnmower tires and mountain bike brakes I’m going to use to save on track consumables.

not in the U.K. the price you pay is the price prevailing on delivery. I would suspect the USA is the same.

If your car is a Model Year 2025, you will pay the 2025 prices.

If your car is a Model Year 2026, you will pay 2026 prices.

Just confirm with your Sales Associate your build/commission is for a 2025 model.

What's the difference between 2025 & 2026 besides the options you can choose. No performance and cosmetic tweaks?

Two new colors, too, and they fiddled a bit with the options. Oh, and now you can buy winter wheelsets as optional accessories when you order the car.

I do love the oak green. The purple not so much. The winter tire setups was an interesting add. I think it used to exist in the 991 days?

I sold my 2025 992.2 after 7 months. The base 911 (and I'd argue the majority of the range) has become too nice to daily drive (at least for my needs) but not nice/thrilling enough to be a weekend car. I believe Porsche has priced this car into a no man's land in their desire to chase Ferrari levels of profit.

Too nice for a daily: My base 992.2 911 cost $160k --- driving a brand new car that looked amazing with no blemishes in pristine condition around town was too anxiety inducing particularly as my work garage and many shopping centers have tiny parking spaces --- I was stressed every time I parked that I would get a door ding. Often, I would come back to the car and there would be people looking at it very closely or taking pics and as a result I always felt the need to keep it pristine and clean. I got compliments everywhere I went but then I got one tiny door ding that luckily was a quick and easy fix which set in motion the desire for me to get a true daily driver that was less anxiety inducing. By contrast the used 992.1 I bought was $120k and had a few small blemishes, so it didn't stress me as much.

Not thrilling/nice enough for a weekend car: The new 992.2 is an impressive car in terms of performance but it's lacking in soul. The new active gas particulate filters make the car much quieter than the 992.1 and there's no more pops/crackles. Yes it's relatively easy to make it louder but it still wouldn't sound good from the outside and there still isn't a tune available. People have an expectation that a 911 is supposed to sound good and a lot of people would ask me to rev the car but I was too embarrassed to ever oblige, bc I know it doesn't sound good on the outside. The car is also so capable that I have to be pushing the car far beyond the speed limit on public roads to feel any sense of excitement. I want to stress, the base 992.2 is HUGELY impressive and hugely confidence inspiring to drive ---dare I say even more capable than most supercars tbh --- my point is simply that there are other cars where it doesn't matter if you're going 12 mph or 120 mph, it'll give you a tingle up your spine.

TLR: I want a car that I can drive every day, but yet makes me feel alive every time I drive it. The 911 no longer fits that bill for me. A real shame for me because I really would have loved to have owned every new 911 for years to come but with each new model year, Porsche keeps optimizing for all the things that don't matter to me (increased profits for Porsche, safety and emissions regulations, larger size and while they do improve 0-60 times/grip it comes at the expense of appealing to the senses. I want to enjoy the drive from A to B not get from A to B as fast as possible.
