I bought the Clore Automotive battery maintainer. It is around $530 bucks. It is heavy duty and some might say overkill. But it has great features and can charge both AGM and lithium ion batteries for vehicles. And you can literally set the continuous voltage to any car and operate any of the car’s electronics without starting the engine such as ECU flashing or reprogramming for the matrix headlights (the voltage can’t drop below a certain voltage or it may cause damage to the ECU while in flash mode).

I just ordered the Clore PL-6100. It offers 60/40/10A charging and up to 100A at 13.1v-16.9v. Output voltage is programmable. I think you bought the big brother. I'm guessing the PL-6100 should be sufficient, as I should be able to program the output voltage to 13.9v or more at either 40 or 60 amps. I cannot imaging needing more than that.

Yea, that should be adequate for flashing. Plus, you'll appreciate it when you want to recharge your battery in your car if it's been sitting too long. Or, any battery for that matter. Now you need to buy the dongle that is recommended. Then he will give you a link to the software so he can remotely control your laptop and he will ask for a VENMO payment and set an appointment for reprogramming. Oh, you need a windows laptop btw. I am a MAC user and I had to buy a windows laptop. I don't think a MAC with Windows app will work.

Asked my club expert and he said that even after flashing we still don’t have the full matrix functionality as in Europe. Reason being that the larger ballast is not included in the USA cars which is required for each led to act independently.

What is the groups opinion on his comments?

Based on the videos that have been posted by US members who have had this activation, the club expert's opinion would appear to be incorrect. The activated LED Matrix lights seem pretty impressive. If they aren't fully activated I cannot imagine what additional tricks they perform.

Anecdotally, I don't see Porsche manufacturing separate light housings within the LED Matrix light option. They might, but it would not seem to make financial sense to go the expense of specifying US and ROW ballasts for the same light housing.

Completely false. The headlamp and controller part numbers are the same world as wide, while driving videos from Europe match those of US activations.

Calling 'BS' only because I went deep down a wormhole converting my car from PDLS to Active Matrix, which to my knowledge hadn't been done previously, writeup here, so I definitely 'know too much' on this topic.

Just busting your *****. LOL! I appreciate those on this board who have spent the time and effort to research something in depth, determine the actual facts, and then share what they've found so that everyone might benefit. Thank you, because now I don't have to go down a rabbit trail hunting for the info.

I successfully followed @jlegelis excellent instructions and with the programming expertise of @rnlst_log converted my PLDS to Active Matrix LED+. I leveraged @jlegelis knowledge of 'knowing too much', I really appreciate his efforts, it made my conversion super easy!

What software was needed for remote control and who would I DM if I wanted to enable LED matrix on my car?
