Some people complain that the 2mm spring is too stiff on the Numeric shifter. It is firmer than stock but not overly firm and I didn't feel that it broke in and lost much resistance over time either. It still feels firm and precise - which is a good thing b/c the stock shifter felt effortless to me in a bad way - like you're moving around a joystick on a video game instead of a shift ****.
Thanks to both of you, i've already ordered the Numeric with the 2mm spring. Will grab a **** from SportShifters as well and to the whole install at once.

@paradocs98 Thank you! One last question, obviously you selected the black coin, but did you have to request the silver ring that is around the circumference of it or was that standard?

I used the 3mm spring for about a year until I ruptured my right biceps tendon hauling a tree trunk. Reverse is still tough with the 2mm spring, but you appreciate the Numeric Shifter more when forced back to the OEM for a few weeks.

I really love my Sport shifter ****. I wanted the most simple design possible but I love to red reverse, so I went with no window, no perforation, and the round cap with engraved numbers. Only the R is painted.

Credit due to rennlist user AdamIsAdam, whose SportShifters **** design I borrowed from. Just contact Roy from SportShifters via the website and tell him your design preferences. He's very responsive and easy to work with. The design combos are seemingly limitless. Here's what I requested: GT2 shift **** for Porsche 992, black brushed top coin--solid round top one-piece coin, black brushed rod, leather black Nappa windows, leather black Nappa upholstery core, 7-speed manual shift pattern using custom font to match Porsche OEM shifter font, shift pattern in white with reverse in red, silver ring around edge of top coin, black front stitching, Medium-Sport weight.

The silver ring and Porsche font are custom options. I was trying to mimic the look of the OEM Carrera T shifter. Design one and give it a shot. I think you'll love it.

I'd love to replace my Dakar PDK 'Razor' **** for one of these just for the look alone but it cannot be done, correct? These will ONLY work for a manual right? Just prefer the look to the stock shifter..

EDIT - looks like Euro Impulse is my best bet - just researched and think I'll give them a try.

I have a manual 2024 992.1 S and considering this shifter ****.
Questions:
- How difficult is this to install ? Any pictures/ videos available?
- Does this reduce the OEM shifter height ? Something I would welcome as I prefer the 911T manual shifter over the 911S one
Thanks

1) Installation is simple. Pry up the shift boot in the front using a plastic trim tool (I placed tape on the surround first to add protection). Pull up the leather boot to expose the plastic locking ring on the shaft. Turn the ring counter clockwise about 90 degrees, then pull the **** off the shaft. Takes about 5 minutes. Several videos online show the process.

2) You can position the new **** at the OEM Height, or lower it to a height similar to a GTS with Short Shift Kit.

As above. First time took me 20 minutes. Now, its less than a 5 minute job.
There is no better mod when comparing the level of effort vs change in feel/satisfaction. Even less time than doing a M Eng tune on your car.

I just pinched the leather and pulled the boot up. No need for the trim tool. This **** looks amazing and improves shifting feel. I have the medium weight and lowered it as much as possible.

Looks great. Do you have more pics, and the exact setup you did when you filled out the dropdown forms?
