992.2 Carrera S
Who knows, maybe they will introduce an anniversary, exclusive, light weight, dry matte carbon, leather to sample trimmed twist key option with deviated stitching…I’d consider it.

992.2 owner here. Having only driven 992.1 models (S and Turbo) at PECLA, I’ve only got 3 hours total in the older models. But with at least some experience I can say:
Turn-“key” start was definitely cooler than push-button. You will miss it - for exactly the two 2 second periods you interact with the starter each drive.
The digital dash is superior in many ways. I understand many think this is blasphemy, but I think most of them haven’t actually used the digital dash. I live with it both in my Cayenne and 992.2. It’s so much easier to see than the 992.1 gauges, configurable to exactly the info you want, and you even get the tach with redline at noon or traditional options. I get the appeal of the analog needle, but it’s hardly worth assuming the digital is a downgrade.
”hybrid” powertrain. My Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid jumps off the line, and uses the E-motor to boost while the Turbo spins up. It’s faster 0-60 than my 992.2. But it’s 5,700 pounds, and still uses a traditional turbo. Imagine just a little battery adding little weight and only used to spin the turbo instantly.
But here’s one of the most experienced 911 enthusiasts ever, Chris Harris, reviewing the GTS ‘hybrid’, admitting he didn’t want to like it and being totally converted:

It’s a balance. Screens are cheap so too many cars dropped too many physical switches. I think Porsche actually does a pretty good job of giving physical controls for most of the most-used functions (except EVERY other vehicle has a physical parking camera button porsche!), along with fairly responsive touchscreens for the deeper menus you would need a DC-10s worth of cockpit switches to physically replicate.
