Miracles of miracles - Mars and I were successful in permanently programming out LKA (lane keep assist) on my 2025 Taycan - this is the MOST annoying nanny, and is on by default every time you start up. You can shut if off by holding the small button on the bottom of the cruise control stalk for 3 sec - but if you forget, you get the all-to-familiar steering wheel intervention while changing lanes.
The 2025 Taycan is a NIGHTMARE to code, as it's fully PVD (protection of vehicle diagnostics) - IE you cannot read anything via ODB until you unlock the modules with Porsche Virtual Tester. And, not all modules unlock with VT - so some can only be programed with VT. It was truly a FRUSTRATING exercise, and many hours of trial and error, but we finally found a successful path.
We were also able to fully activate HD Matrix - amazing system! Everything is VERY DIFFICULT in these new cars, and PVD is a complete nightmare. But, with enough motivation, there is a path. If you are interested, I'm sure Mars is open for business to implement this very handy mod! PM @rnlst_log - he truly works miracles. .
Here's a photo of the before and after instrument panel showing the absence of the LKA icon - just to the left of the cruise control icon. . LKA assist logo when system is active . . it's yellow here as partially deactivated - normally it's grayed out when not active, and green when active. Fully deactivated and permanently removed!! Winning. . .
Nice! I have no idea who ever thought LKA was safer. I am pretty sure mine has tried to kill me several times already. What an awful invention. Right up there with start stop. Mars is yanking that crap out of my Turbo GT now.

Agree! Cars driving themselves have their purpose. But having to fight the car as we battle for control is totally nuts. I absolutely hate it. I just leave my cruise control off and never use it in order to keep LKA permanently turned off.
Unnerving and unnatural. So glad the Macan has a button to shut it off, and "permanent" memory defeat state. Sould be an easily accessed submenu, like auto-blip.
With the 2024 Cayenne when you turn LKA off with the little button it stays off permanently thru multiple drives. But I remember on my Cayenne base how annoying and overly sensitive it was, beeping anytime you got near a line even at lowest sensitivity.
But both my new P-cars now have Innodrive, which solves this. Even with Innodrive off, LKA almost never beeps unless you really go over a line. And with it on on the highway, it keeps you centered in the lane so it never beeps.
I thought Porsche’s LKA was pretty crappy compared to Audis, but Innodrive fixes all its annoyances and really makes it a nice system.
On most cars the turn signal / indicator turns this off for lane changes. Doesn't the Porsche system do that?
It reacts even as you get closer to the edge of the lane which is easy to do in a Cayenne. Also it tries to drag me into merge lanes and left hand turns when I want to go straight.
