I have my door cards off and in the shop. The engine open button on the door sill apparently doesn't operate without the door cards plugged in and I need to get the engine lid open.
Sorry lol. Move the cards near the connections so you don't have to put them together fully. Just do the connections basically with the cards hanging so that you can use the switch. Haven't removed them on a 992 so not sure how easy that is.

When you lift the switch, did anyone actually try to pull on the cover to see if it actually opened?
I've seen several variations of 911 not fully pop open when you pull the switch and require you to lift it a tad.

Yes tried that. While someone kept the switch pulled, I tried to lift the lid.
Uncertain if the 992 has this. But, my 991.1 had a manual pull cable for engine lid behind RR tailight.
Thanks! Willing to see if it's still there but the situation's further complicated cause I have a ducktail. Trying to think of ways to disassemble the tail light. I'll follow up if I ever figure it out.
