Default DYI deviated stiching

Why? lizard green was not a deviated stitching color option (mamba green was). The T leather package in lizard green; deviated stitching did not include the wheel and boot, which looked like an abbreviated attempt at the "real" deviated option. Annoying for a $7K option (T leather option).
Easy? No, for many reasons.
I am super happy with how it turned out, especially since I got what I was hoping for without sending the pieces out and waiting.
For sure, I would not consider doing this on any other piece, it was a very tedious SOB job.

Did you remove the old stitches before you did this? And how did you do it?

There is the below method also:

existing stitch was removed, yes. Otherwise, the thread leaves a weaving pattern, as in the video that you linked, which I wasn't after. I wanted it to look as if the factory did it. I will post some finish pics once I install the shifter boot and ****.

I ordered my GTS with Basalt black Club leather because deviated stitching is not available on the new 992.2. You made me wonder if a professional will take on this task to do the entire interior.

I cant imagine anyone doing a whole interior without replacing the leather. Removing the existing thread without damaging the leather is very time consuming and tedious. I don't know how it would look using a machine going over the existing holes. Sounds really expensive with the risk of it looking like ****. But, this is coming from a guy that knows nothing about it except what I was able to do. I am curious what a pro would say to that prospect.

Could you post a picture once you are done with both items. And give us your honest opinion how it looks having only two items with green stitching while the rest of the car is black.

I'm probably missing something but the screen grab below showing Deviated Stitching is from the 992.2 configurator for the GTS. DS is also available on the base car.

The configurator does, however you can not option it, I had to choose a different option before my freeze date on October 8th.

That's unfortunate. Maybe they are planning to offer DS at some point so they are leaving it up in the configurator but it is obviously confusing for people shopping for their cars now.

That is precisely why I did this; the rest of the car is black leather with deviated stitching in lizard (the T leather package in lizard), which, again, does not include the wheel or shifter boot. The T leather package also included lizard seat belts. It now has the "appearance" of the DS option (except, lizard wasnt an option).

I accidentally found the correct thread, without it, it would have looked like scheitz.

What thread? Link? Do they have different colors?

I guess $250/hr is going rate for any automotive service these days. Sigh.
