This is the problem with the 992.2
Here: Porsche 992.2 Build
$150K for a Carrera with what I consider basic options that should be on a 911. This is madness.

Point taken, although everything is more expensive than it used to be.
That said, my build is $10K less than what you consider a "basic" build and there is nothing I wanted that I didn't include on it.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a shortage of buyers willing to fork out their hard earned $$$. $150k for a base Carrera is just crazy! I configured a TTS and it came out to $270k ish. $300k with TT&L for a glorified Beetle is absolutely nuts….and I like the Beetle!Another $100k and you’re in exotic territory.

.2 TTS starts at just under $234k. I was playing around with the configurator and the .2GTS came out to just shy of $200k. That’s how much a lightly optioned 991TT used to cost. The .2 GTS is most likely faster than an 991TT and more importantly, has no turbo lag. There goes junior’s college fund!

$159k and I'm still missing AWD, SPASM, RAS, and PDCC

Some one simple just needs to plot real inflation against the pricing of base porsches and their options, the data is there somewhere in the hard data.
in anycase this will continue so long as we continue to buy them as it should be if you support capitalism ;P i dont think we're going to get much empathy from others on the whole socialism for 911's front.

yeah in 2018 I purchased my first 911 a 991.2 TT. A fair amount of options and msrp was 185. Ordered it and purchased at a slight discount from msrp. There was some turbo lag but I believe it was 540hp if I remember correct. However launch was just less than 3 seconds. So I think it was probably faster than 992.2 gts. Blows my mind how much everything has increased in 6-7 years.
The .2 GTS is advertised at 2.9 seconds to 60, which really means 2.6 or even faster. Every P-car that I’ve owned was about 0.2-0.3 seconds faster than advertised. The new 3.6L with a e-turbo and an electric motor sounds like a beast.

Perhaps instead of complaining about Porsche prices, it might be better to ask why your own wages have not increased at a similar rate.
The former is something out of your control, the latter is really something that you ostensibly have complete control over (unless you are, for example, retired and on a fixed income).
