Default Dolomite Silver vs GT Silver

I have a GT Silver 992.2 arriving soon.

Is this the first year that Dolomite Silver is a custom paint color?

I’ve been obsessing about whether Dolomite Silver is like a chrome vs the silver bronze that GT Silver looks to me.

I can’t justify the huge cost now but am curious if I would’ve gone with Dolomite Silver if it wasn’t such a big cost.

Happen to have both colors side by side, hope it could help you find your answer.

The Dolomite is definitely a brighter shade but the GT Silver looks really good too! 😎

Thank you!

It used to be a slight cost but in 2022 they made it PTS like they did with Adventurine Green this year.

I have Dolomite Silver and love it. I did buy it CPO'ed and find it has a blue-ish tint to it. Either one is a great silver color. I don't think I would pay PTS pricing for it though.

This is my Dolomite silver - it is brighter than GT Silver, with more bluish tint. Can't go wrong with either!

Dolomite silver on a 2021 Taycan 4S. It can look quite different depending on the light but in general it has blue undertones. It is a very nice color but I wouldn't pay to have it done PTS, especially when GT is available as a relatively bargain alternative.

I planned to go Dolomite Silver on my 23 992 and first ever new Porsche. I've owned 5 others. Porsche changed that plan, so I went PTS Meisen Blue. Porsche changed that plan, so I went GT Silver (AKA Generic Silver). All said Generic Silver is fine, Dolomite would have been better, but in no way worth PTS prices. Side by side, Dolomite is blueish, which I like, but, not enough to justify the PTS cost. Porsche is sadly on a money grab. They have deviated far from their roots of delivering value. It will come back to them. I would not buy another new Porsche based on my recent experience. The car is spectacular, for now, the company and dealers are not. Pick your poison. My .02

I get the long heritage for GT, but to me Dolomite is just the more interesting/fresher color.
