Moving on from my 5 month old

Moving on from my 5 month old
I’ve had my carrera for about 5 months. I’ve never owned a Porsche or a high performance car like this one. The problem is that it hasn’t lived up to the hype in my own head. I know almost everyone here are enthusiasts and I really appreciate the forum and how much they love their cars.
As for me, I’m thinking of moving on from mine since it still has less than 2k miles on it and may be able to walk away unscathed.
This post is not an ad to sell. It’s a request for advise on selling these type of cars and how to avoid getting scammed.
The dealer where I bought mine is offering $129k. Not too far off from the MRSP. However, there’s almost no local inventory of my trim with that few miles and the ones that are out there are listed for $147-150k with more miles on em.
I wouldn’t go through the hassle of selling myself for less than $5k but for $10-15k I would.
Any advise? Ideally I’d like to sell online without any test drives to avoid joy riders. But I’m out of my element selling a car like this.
TIA

call three Porsche dealers within a driving distance from you and talk to used car manger not a SA, see what they offer
that will give you a good idea on current market
negotiate based on that information and take the highest bid

If the dealer is offering close to MSRP then I would jump on that. At the offer price (close to MSRP) you are quoting, it sounds like a Base model. But what is the trim level of the car? Even if it's an S you're still getting a decent offer it sounds like. The day's of them giving you MSRP or above are over except for GT3 and higher...

It's not for you and that's fine. The faster you separate yourself from it the better. you don't see yourself as a flipper do you?

If you are getting close to MSRP, run and take that offer. Yes, you will have to eat the tax but you were not getting that back anyway and for a decent part of the U.S. peak driving season is over. Additionally, the 992.2 is going to start to show up and some percentage of owners will want the newest model. Consider the experience a lesson learned.
BTW, check out the classifieds here and BaT for options to sell it yourself.

Maybe BaT. Pretty easy process for seller from what I hear. But I think the issue with them is you have little control of where the reserve is set if any.

I’ve sold a car on BaT, and I was able to set the reserve (but they did try to get me to set it lower than I initially wanted). my only issue with BaT is that it took about 3 months between when they “accepted” my listing and when it went live because of their backlog. I had no control or notice on the timing of when it would go live.

I have also sold a car (1949 resatored F-1 pickup) on Bring a Trailer (BaT). With the premium package (about $450.00) they write the ad and send a professional photographer to your home to photograph the car. Getting the auction live and setting the reserve is easy. I set the reserve and they accepted my reserve price. If they want a reduced reserve the Seller has the option of accepting it or not. However, after the auction BaT says that the "transaction is between Buyer and Seller". It took months to get my winning bidder to pay me and pickup the car. BaT did step in at times to help (by threatening to ban the Buyer from the site and retaining the Buyers fee (5% of the bid up to $7,500.00) with no car) but it was a tedious process. They even fully refunded my Seller's fee because of the difficulty. I am told my situation is rare but it was my first and only situation with BaT. The deal got done and paid in full but it wasn't easy. I also obtained a fair market price for my truck. Doubt that I would have done any better elsewhere. I guess I would try them again to sell a car. It really has become the go to place to sell a classic or sought after automobile.

I’ll reach to one other dealer. Haven’t heard back in a week but I’ll call some more. Thanks.

I’ll do a little digging on BaT as I hadn’t heard of it before. Your experience would definitely be an issue for me as I’d like to move on from my car quickly to jump into something else. I appreciate the input. Exactly the type of experiences I was looking to hear about.

Once you did get it listed, how long before it sold and you got paid?
