This happened to me a few years ago with a base 992. It was my first 911 and I was so disappointed that the ride quality was so bad… until I discovered this! Definitely let the dealership hear it
I will. I blame myself for not noticing the ride quality for 4k miles, though. First 911 and I just thought its supposed to be stiff like this. Shame on me.
Wow! I'm sorry that happened to you as well. Victims of complacency.
Another reason that even though I am quite old these days, I do as much of my service/maintenance work that I can myself. The average worker could give two sh*ts about my Porsche, and I am very fussy!
One thing you should have done is have the dealer replace the dust boot on the top of the shock absorber.
It looks like it got ripped apart by the shipping block that of course they forgot to remove..

I'm going to insist they replace everything associated with that shock, including the shock itself and then give me an alignment. What else should I ask for?
Funny you should ask! I spoke with the Technician manager, the Technician Foreman and the General Manager.
1. They were very apologetic and admitted it was obviously their fault. The technician who initially did the PDI no longer works there. Apparently he was a problem.
2. They're going over everything and will keep me posted of any additional damage. They have agreed to replace any component that could be in question, in addition to an alignment.
3. The gave me 2024 Cayenne courtesy vehicle.
4. Should be done by Friday.
Overall, not thoroughly impressed with their service. I don't know what I was expecting but just saying sorry and addressing the issue doesn't seem satisfying to me. Again, I don't know what else to expect other than take full responsibility and fix the issues, which they are. Overall 6/10 experience.
So they screwed up something that you, somehow, didn't notice for literally four thousand miles, then they admitted fault and are fully rectifying the situation, and it's only a 6/10 experience??
Dear lord, give some grace. No one is perfect. **** happens. Let them fix it and move on.

They also literally fired the responsible party. What more could you ask for?

Yeah. I didn't notice. There was really no indication, knocking, noises. Felt a little stiff but this is my first 911. I'm truly sorry they didn't take it out when they delivered the car and my experience at the shop wasn't up to your standards. 160k car with experienced technicians going over everything, checking things off the list before they hand it over to you but hey, **** happens. You may accept that complacency is common place these days but I do not. Especially not from Porsche.

I didn't get him fired. I didn't ask for that. I was more concerned about safety more than anything. But I'm sure you would have been okay with everything had it been your car.

I’m reading that he was already terminated and your complaint was adding to their confirmation. Correct?

Would I have been thrilled to find out they didn't remove the block? No...
Is there anything further they could have done? Doesn't sound like it. Humans make mistakes.
