Default HELP! 992 Targa4GTS ‘Cricket Sound’

Hi all!
I had my 2022 992Targa4GTS manual for about 2 years now, and recently after acceleration or simply a tap on the gas, once the rev comes down there’s this cricket noise.
here’s a quick youtube video of it:

Exhaust Cricket Noise

I’m planning to bring it to the dealership to have them take a look, but I’m sure they will give me the usually it’s a normal noise response etc.
If anyone here has encountered this before, please let me know, and any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Did it go away if you play around with turn PSE on and off ?

the other threads mentioned possibly turbo vane noise, but I agree that the sounds is mechanical.

my 2023 c4s has made this sound since i can remember. most noticable in the garage or when driving at slow speeds, between buildings, with the windows down. i figure its just part of the mechanical charm of the engine. from what i have learned it is a normal sound from the high pressure fuel pump.

Mine started right after 1,000 miles. Dealer says it's normal - high pressure fuel pump. I think it's stupid and makes the car sound very cheap. And why did it start after 1000 miles? Must not be normal. But I live with it.

Yes it does. It's on all the time but you won't hear it much above idle. It's the loudest in the garage. At idle if I barely touch the gas pedal it goes away and then momentarily comes back one at idle.

The dealer saying it's the high pressure pump makes sense. I'm just worried that it's a defect in the pump and it'll die an early death. I haven't heard it happen yet but the oldest 992 is 4 years old. I hope we don't end up with E90 BMW 335i type fuel pump/injector issues in the long run.

My 992 C4S did this always, at times was really loud (to me, not sure if others noticed it). Def noticeable in the garage, but also in driveway and at stops. This just means that it was more noticeable when not overcome by road noise of course. Dealer said non-issue but also didn’t suggest anything specific like fuel pump which seems reasonable to me. It is not exhaust related.

The cricket noise has to be genetic thing that some people can hear and some can't. In the recording that forum members post I can never hear anything out of sorts. Or maybe it's the age of the driver... younger people can hear higher frequencies typically.
