Default Is extended warranty worth it.

My 911 has 31,000 miles on it and the company warranty ends in 6 months. What are your opinions on getting the Porsche extended warranty, another companies or none at all? I intend to keep it for at least 4 more years unless they go all EV then I will keep it until it dies.

very personal and individual decision. I added 5 years of the Porsche extended warranty at about $1k per year it’s an easy choice for me.

I never buy an extended warranty for anything. However, I did add the Fidelity extended warranty to the 911 that takes the warranty out to 10 years and 100,000 miles. My reasoning is because I do intend to keep this car long term. I always keep my cars at least 10 years. This one may be longer since it’s getting more and more difficult to get a manual transmission 911. I did not think the cost was too high for what it covers.

Although it’s technically a warranty, I look at it more like insurance. But unlike insurance, here in CA you can cancel at anytime and get a pro rated refund.

Yes, but only if your Porsche breaks.

Only if you're buying a 992.2 GTS.

I just added 3 years Porsche extended warranty to my 21,000 mile / 4-year old 992. Value of the car vs. cost of repairs should anything major go wrong makes it a simple decision in my books.

It's worth it for the peace of mind for me. I don't want to get hit with the $20k PDK repair.

Hey Ritch, below is your extended warranty information from Fidelity. Repairs are accepted at all Porsche dealerships and licensed independents in the US/Canada. Let me know if you have any questions, you can wait until your factory warranty is going to expire as long as the vehicle has less than 35K miles for the same pricing. My contact information is below if you have any questions or would like an example contract that explains coverage. Coverage terms are from the purchase date/miles of the warranty coverage into the future, and have nothing to do with your inservice date or factory warranty coverage terms.

I didn’t with my wife’s first gen Cayenne. Bought new, scrapped at maybe 60k miles for £3k. (Bore scoring.)

Also had a 997.1 GT3. Got quoted £9k for an oil seal.

Only way I’d run a Porsche out of warranty now is when they get so old I can’t get a warranty for it 😂

I think it all depends on your usage. I drive around 2-3K a year and for me it is not worth it as a car with only 20K miles should still be OK.

However if you drive around 10K a year, it makes more sense.

The 3 year extended with a $250 deductible looks like a decent deal.

What are the advantages of purchasing a Fidelity warranty with less than 10k miles?

I am planning to buy 2-years CPO for my 992. It is costly but worth every penny and it can be extended up to 15 years. It also boosts the resale value of the car although I am not planning to sell my 911 anytime soon.

So to answer your question, YES it is worth it. 2 years CPO price is around 5k CAD plus taxes, plus the inspection fees. It's like an insurance in case.

Trenton is this price lower for a 2024 with under $10k miles?
