From what I've seen, pre-owned 992s are not selling fast at all, and most are sitting in the lots here in California for well over a month, typically 2~3 months minimum for non-hot specs.
Also, I agree with others' comments here that manual 911s sit in the lot a lot longer, contrary to popular belief by the older generation of car enthusiasts.
I have a feeling that younger enthusiasts in their 20~30s just don't give a damn about manual transmission sports cars anymore.
I suppose a lower take rate on new manual 911s also mean eventual lower take rate on manual 911s in the used car market.
Times have changed for good, when it comes to manual transmission cars. Sad.

I just ran the PCNA search again, nationwide, 992.1, new and preowned with manual transmission only. 12 pages this run. Pages 1-11 had 15 cars per page. Page 12 had 10. Total nationwide equals 175.

When you get into the manual and the GTS trims it gets to be really small numbers, which will bode well for resale. Right now there are 9 Manual Targa GTS via Porsche Finder, and there are 25 PDK. The Manuals are listed the highest above MSRP vs the PDK when pre-owned.
The new hybrid GTS will bring indisputable performance that will be able to be felt vs the 992.1. I think thats really going to hurt 992.1 PDK GTS prices, especially with the 992.2 Base Carrera getting most of the GTS drivetrain (but not the tune). Its a double whammy for PDK GTS. I know there are those who hate the idea of hybridization, but once the glowing reviews come out, i think the hive mind will shift. If i didnt want a manual, I would have skipped on my incoming GTS for the new one, as fully specced the price isnt that different and its a lot more car.
The manual will anchor and hold your 992.1 GTS value. Unless you really hate the manual (or love the PDK), there wouldnt be a good reason to not get the manual for future resale.

Just my experience and my opinion ...I think the PDK will appeal to newer and younger buyers who probably don't have a lot of experience with manual transmissions or perhaps better said probably don't know how to use them. So,again, just my opinion, I think the PDK will be worth more than the manual. How much more depends on the rest of the car and the condition that it is in, etc...

True, manual transmission cars already sell more slowly, because the audience that can drive them is shrinking, but those who want them really really want them.
Yes, many younger generation buyers simply lack the skills and/or coordination to operate them — heck, we have people on RennList posting that a manual can’t be driven in traffic. 😜
This is not representative of the enthusiast community as a whole. There is a robust contingent of younger buyers that value the experience and engagement of the manual transmission. The 3 pedal take rate of the 86, Miata, and Supra puts the 911 take rate to shame. Some day, those folks will want and be able to afford a 911 with 3 pedals. The enthusiast demand for manual 911s isn’t going to disappear.
Sure, I appreciate and enjoy the PDK. I put more than 35k miles on my PDK C4S. That being said, just today, driving my Targa with the top down, doing WOT shifts, I have to say, for me, the 3 pedal expedience is considerably more fun. YMMV

A MT 911 will have higher resale value, but be harder to sell.
The same is true for a Targa trim.
So a MT Targa will have really high resale value, but be really hard to sell.
A PDK, on the other hand, will have lower resale value, but be much easier to sell.

The more time that passes, the more valuable the manual will become as it will fill both requirements for collectability-- rare and desirable.

i really think the model makes a big difference as well
a gts targa manual may not be as desirable as a PDK. but i would bet most T buyers would want a manual. I would be really interested to see the take rate of manual vs auto on the different models

Where is the official take rate for the 992.1 T published?
