yes, your deposit is applied to the agreed price of the car. As far as the invoice goes, I would like to see more info on there for what the invoice is for - i.e., allocation and order number. Having said that, all I got was a standard credit card receipt which was stapled to my build sheet. And they asked me for a copy of the receipt when I finalized the sale... so don't take it for granted that they will remember your deposit.

I had similar concerns when I first start hunting for an allocation. I got very blank deposit receipts, even asked some SAs about their fine prints, etc. But after a while I realized most P dealers and SAs are pretty chill (not our average BHPH lot salespeople) - taking or refunding 5k deposits are pretty standard practices, so no need to fret over it.
