The hate is really missing the point. The gts doesn’t have to be for you. But it foreshadows some really cool possibilities for the TTS and a potential 2RS. Throw two of these e-turbos in there … they’ll be in the same league as 5 year old exotics and 700-800hp. Getting all this tech in for only 50kg penalty, without a carbon tub, is really impressive. The turbo / turbo S line has always been about faster cars with more tech regardless of weight. Since forever.

Seems like every time there is a new model in every brand everyone that has the previous model claim that they hate it just so they can be so proud that they have the one they have that is not the latest and greatest. It's like they are butt hurt that there is a new model

most people can;t afford to be on the subscription plan for the latest and coolest cars & coffee entry every 2-3 years. Instead of just shrugging off “there’s always another level / richer *******” they seem to need to **** on the cars they don’t have 🤷‍♂️

I am a long-term member here. I've seen the best and the worst of the Porsche 911. I am not buying the new Corporate BS,

My 2023 Porsche 911 is all good 2023 with a 3.7L Turbo.:
Such a stupid take. People complain about every time the 911 is updated. But this one really doesn't have anything huge to complain about. It's not like you are forced to buy a hybrid version.

I think Porsche did the smart thing and played the .2 relatively safe. Instead of messing with a car that has been extremely successful, they gave us minimal design changes and the option for hybrid and non-hybrid drivetrains. I would wait to judge exterior until you see it in the flesh.

Unlike sports car options from Ferrari or Lamborghini (2025+), there is no non-hybrid option. And certainly no manual available (rest assured it’s coming to 992.2).

What Porsche did was give us more optionality, while pushing the performance envelope even further using technology. I think those on the fence should just wait until the full line is announced before throwing rocks. Porsche are masters at developing enough unique iterations of the 911 to appease even the most jaded amongst us.

I am already on the list for the manual Turbo and would happily trade my T in for the new platform knowing that small design quibbles aside, it will be a leap forward.

Would be interesting to see what Porsche would design if emissions regulations were waived. Sports cars have benefited from these regulations over the decades but it’s not clear that is still the case.

Probably because their entire line can meet some EU standard, that allows individual cars to be less fuel efficient than others. I’m glad that Aston realized that they need big motors to be successful, look at how that new C63 is doing… yikes

Hybrid, batteries, electric motors all over the place, nothing to complain about?

If I guy wants to order a new 911, we are indeed forced into hybrid, unless they release some more ice stuff which is looking less and less likely.

I won’t be, I have a 1100hp 992.1 Turbo S and GT3T waiting list pending no hybrid crap. Both are long term keepers for me. Thanks for ur wisdom lol

I can get behind this take, and mostly agree with it. I also think, if I were not a MT or bust kinda person, I wouldn’t mind picking up a 992.2. The drivetrain, with the e-turbo, seems like it would be quite the treat.

There was no MT option for the Turbo 992.1, but there will be for the .2?
