Or you may find a friend screeching at you while you are driving

I think he wanted to take revenge for the loss of his friend

Is that a cicada?

A lot of people hate them. I really love the sound. Reminds me of the summers of a well spent childhood in flyover country.

Good that you noticed it while stopped. I would flip out if I saw a cicada in my car while driving. I grew up in the North East of the US and the cicadas are one part of the experience that I most certainly do not miss.

They descend on Palm Springs too. It’s a mess!

yes it was. I do not mind the sound of the group of them, but one pissed off one in your car when you do not expect it….

Haven't spotted any in Ohio yet. When I do the Tundra will have to take one for the team.
I think it was 2005 (?) when they were last bad here. I don't remember the exact date/year, but the roads were literally covered with them. It was a total mess.
