Default Adding color to steering wheel at 12 o'clock

Has anyone added a color band at 12 o'clock on the leather GT sports steering wheel? If so, what did you use to color the leather?

What is the logic behind adding a colored band on the steering wheel?

On track, when things are flying by at 100 mph (sometimes literally, but most of the times figuratively), it's an easy visual cue to as to where your steering wheel is positioned.

But poseurs do it because it gives them extra cred at Cars and Coffee, same with the fire extinguisher option.

Thats why you keep your hand at a fixed 9 o'clock and 3'oclock and cross over your arms rather than slide you hands around the wheel
