Has anyone found a mod that can permanently turn off the engine auto start/ stop "feature?" I know you can do it every time you get into the car but that's a bit annoying.

I put the icon for it on the instrument panel and it's become part of my: get in, fasten my seat belt, start the car, press the *** button routine. Shouldn't have to be that way, but . . . . . . .

I use one of the 2 programable keys I have to turn off start/stop. I drive in normal mode until the car warms up so I just hit the dash toggle switch to turn off start/stop when I get in.

I can be coded out. Your Porsche dealer has the software to do it, or it can be DIY if you buy one of the higher level Autel scanners. There is a long thread on the Cayenne forum (2019) on. how to do it with the Autel. You have to be comfortable with coding, because if you mess up you can brick your car.

Two other thoughts come to mind:
First: I'd want to know from Autel (in writing) if making any of the coding changes that their scan tool allows, results in, makes or causes any change in the CalID or the CVN numbers in the car's computer system. The current Smog Check in California and I'd imagine any other state that copies California's I/M Program, electronically scans the car to verify that these two items have not been changed and/or don't match the serial number of the vehicle. Then . . . . .even if these numbers can be reset back to the original, by reactivating the *** system, if this requires a current Autel subscription, that'd be a show stopper for sure.
Second: I have an MK808S which I purchased (among other reasons) to reset the Oil Change and Maintenance Monitors. The annual update for this Scan Tool is $88 from Autel. If/when I purchase a newer car I may avail myself of this MK808S update. In the mean time it works just fine on the cars I have which isn't the same thing with the MK906BT's $435.00 annual fee.

Super interesting point. I didn’t think about this, but, in a literal sense, “permanently” disabling stop/start by allowing the car to remember your setting, could mean that your car idles for longer over its life and hence increase the totality of its emissions contribution to the environment. Grey area, of course, since I could be very good at disabling stop/start myself everytime I start the car.

If your goal is to get your oil to operating temperature as quickly as possible, you want to use NORMAL mode for first 15 minutes because SPORT mode runs cooler than NORMAL. So, I use INDIVIDUAL mode for quick warm up which I have customized to NORMAL mode, *** OFF, PSE OPEN. When oil hits 180 degrees F, I switch to SPORT or SPORT +.
