I have one that’s even dumber.
I had a TTRS got in in the morning, Started it up and let the clutch out.
Problem is normally I left it in neutral this time,I left it in first gear.
when I let the clutch out The car lurched forward and crashed into a toolbox.
Dented, the bumper broke the grill both of which I repaired and replaced.
Then what I did is I put up a sign on the wall directly in front of the car.
It said “start in neutral “so I never left the car in gear again
.I’m still paranoid every time I get to start the cars.
I think that’s why they don’t let guys my age fly jets!
Thanks to Adam for the suggestion to allow my beaten up old CTEK to retire. While I like the idea of allowing the old fellow to soldier on like a good trooper, the thought of a fire resulting from my ah, stupidity, is not worth it.
Perhaps I should mount the guy on a nice plaque and hang it in front of my car.

I've charged both cars with a cigarette lighter socket for over 6 weeks with no issues and a cable running out of the window is a great reminder.
I always plug the charger (no not the MOPAR one) to the battery when not used for extended periods. In between I ALWAYS crack the frunk just in case; avoids ....
But for the real high tech reminders since Porsche Engineers in their infinite wisdom didn't think of it, I do use this avant-garde technique for the FAL pinned prominently when I drive into the garage...
