Adding Front Camera to 2020 911 CS Cab
I'm a newbie to Porsche and loving my new to me 911. Had it a whole week now. I just love it! But I'm used to full camera systems in other cars and my 911 has a rear view camera only.
A local highly respected Auto tech shop with lots of Porsche experience has quoted me $1800 to add a front Camera that would be triggered by the steering wheel phone button. I want the camera for parking to see the lines and the concrete block the low nose of my car is approaching. The camera would be wide enough angle for that. My car has park assist sensors which warn me pretty well about forward obstacles I approach. I wish the car had 360 surround but it does not. Does the price seem reasonable?
I wonder if activating the camera will deactivate the forward sensors. Suggestions much appreciate for this newbie!
Wow, the photo I added is huge! Must be a way to resize

Beautiful cab.
Having had a lot of stereo work done recently, price doesn't seem outrageous. Nice they can activate it via an existing button. Shouldn’t interfere with your parking sensors, should be a nice add on feature. but would double check with them before you do the upgrade.
Share your results if you take the plunge including details of what camera they used, that may help others interested in this upgrade.

Add on single front camera or 3 camera surround view
Yesterday was a beautiful Easter on a 70 degree clear morning. Drove to church and parked in a lined spot I drove straight into. I couldn’t see how I was positioned between the lines and was worried there would be cars on each side of me. I don’t think the front sensors came on and I wondered if the concrete stop was too low for them to see and it was 7:50 for an 8 am service as I was afraid to be late. Got out of the car and saw I was not centered. So backed out and in again. Of course I’m obsessed with my perfect car and don’t want it dinged. Never had a more beautiful car with so little camera help to park! Yikes.
The service was beautiful, the car was untouched so off we drove to breakfast where I had to park again. Similar spot but wider and no concrete in front just the side walk. Was the long nose of my 911 too far forward? Thankfully there was no slot on the passenger side. All was well. But I need a camera or 3.
I’ve been looking at a site in Asia that claims a 4 camera surround 360 system. I’ve been asking them questions using WhatsApp. It’s about $600. I can’t imagine attempting an install by myself. And what local shop would even consider installing an unknown system, including adding the side mirror cameras. The site is called JP YAP. They even have a YouTube video. I know I should just get on with the single front camera install. Just not quite ready to give up on the 360 surround upgrade.
I can’t find anyone who has added a single camera to a 911 yet. Hope someone here will chime in. Sorry to drone on. Some of you will understand. Cheers

Hi
I am also mulling over 360 Deg Camera mod which Raymond of Innosoft is selling at about US$2,100 for the parts excluding installation. Here's the link : https://www.innovativesoftnz.com/pro...t-kits-for-992
Thanks

Really tempted but no install options in US for Innosoft. Love to have it. I’ve decided on a front camera only install by local professional installer. I’ll report back.

I'd be very interested in this mod - any chance of getting install instructions in advance to see what is involved? Do we have contact info for Raymond at Innosoft so I can contact him directly? I have PIWIS, so can program this is - just mechanically want to figure out what's involved in the install.

I just ordered this kit after texting with Raymond - will advise how the install goes . . .

Well, we shall see! I already had the mirrors as I purchased a set to add power folding to my GT3, and they came with cameras. Mechanically, I don't think this will be too difficult - the bigger risk is with programming in PIWIS, but I took a look, and think it will be possible. I have the Porsche calibration procedure, and Raymond included the calibration matts required for the procedure, so with any luck, I will have power-folding mirrors and 3D surround vision in my GT3 in a few weeks . . .

In process right now - all the difficult wiring is done - just need to install the front camera, and then wire up the processor box . . . .
