So I have been waiting a little under 2 years for my Targa 4 GTS allocation. I originally had my name down at one dealership, but after getting tired of waiting, I put my name down for another Targa 4 GTS allocation. With my luck, both allocations came within a day of each other, so now I 2 fully buildable allocations for $10,000 over on each. My question is do you think it's worth buying both and reselling one (or selling the allocation) or should I give up the second allocation and only order one car. Seems like fate that both came at the same time and its telling me to take both allocations, but not sure if it's 100% worth taking the second one. Thanks for your input!
Wait, after WAITING for two years you still have to pay ADM?
Yeah, unfortunately my dealer has multiple people waiting, so they won't void the ADM they're just going to give it to someone else if I don't pay the markup.
it is a risky move
car market is drifting downward, and this will catch up to the 911 market sooner or later
I doubt you will make any profit on it and might incur a significant loss
Man, I used to turn my nose up at the targa. Until I saw a 992 4GTS. Sweet Jesus that thing was amazing! Why this dont fetch over MSRP on the secondary market is beyond me. I would gladly pay $10k ADM for a buildable allocation,

You are going to lose money flipping the car after paying taxes and $10K over sticker.

People will pay $10k over for a buildable slot, but not one that’s built. Everyone used to say they fetch well over MSRP, but BAT is an avenue to get them under.
What’s the ultimate goal here? You want a specific color and customized options? Obviously you can see I love the targa, just wondering what’s important to you.
When I lived in AZ the best way to buys cars was private transactions - as you may know you don’t have to pay sales tax. They will gouge for the registration of course. Nevertheless, I don’t see upside buying two. For me it would boil down to the best deal. For example, what else (if anything) are you being asked to include with the purchase, e.g., must have a trade (where they deduct another ADM), mandatory service contract, PPF, etc. If there are zero strings attached then I would buy the car nearest me.
