Team sunroof. I like the extra light in the cabin. Plus I have it open a lot. The AC can keep even in hot days with it open.

Only downside is that it won't open all the way when the roof rack is on. They need to fix that.

Because the 911 is so top heavy, like an suv, with the glass sun roof, I got PDCC. Ha!

I ordered my C4S with a the metal sunroof because I thought having the body color on top accentuates the car's shape.

A question though... I know the opening is small compared to the glass version, but does anyone know of a video showing the operation of the body color sunroof? I looked on YouTube and all I can find are the glass ones. It would be nice to have a better idea of what to expect.

I’m VERY surprised that over half of us voted for No Sunroof in this poll so far, considering that every thread I’ve seen on RL has overwhelming said to spec a sunroof for resale value. Meanwhile my slicktop is seemingly gaining value now.

I never understood comments that say get the sunroof to add extra light in the cabin. Why does the cabin need extra light? I’ve never felt the cabin was too dark or claustrophobic. I’m glad Porsche lets us order without the sunroof. Mini let me do the same thing when I bought the Cooper SE. All my other cars came with a sunroof automatically from the factory. None ever get opened.

I get a sunroof on something like our Stelvio, almost the entire roof is glass and it adds a lot of light. All my recent performance cars have not had one nor were they even offered. We have a 718 Boxster S though so admittedly that was a factor.

No sunroof is my preference but it won't stop me from buying the car if its optioned with one.

I had a glass sunroof on my prior 991.2 and optioned sunroof delete on my current 992. The main reason for me was I didn't want the possibility of rattles/leaks, prefer the slick-top look, didn't use mine at all when I had it and don't like the look of the 911 when it's open (looks like an afterthought to me with it laying over the top of the roof).

That said, as with colors there is no wrong answer here. I'd not hesitate to buy a CPO model with one, just prefer w/o.

Glass sunroof adds too much weight, and found with glass, I’m always getting a sun glare/heat…so end up closing the fun shade to cover the glass.

Metal sunroof adds far less weight, while giving you the option to tilt/open the roof to let in more air and light. Tilting looks best.

No sunroof is cheapest, and a little less weight than metal sunroof.

I opted for the metal sun roof…have had a sunroof on every car I’ve owned since the 70’s.

I was a bit on the fence about the glass sunroof when we ordered our 992. After having it for two years, I am glad we spec'd it with the glass sunroof. It really opens up the cockpit and adds to the cruising experience. Maybe I would think otherwise if I tracked the car.

I waffled on this one quite a bit as well. My 996 had a sunroof and I used it constantly.

In the end I decided against it for a few reasons:

- I prefer the clean look of the solid red roof.
- I was worried the glass roof might get too hot in the Arizona sun
- Less things to break
- Less things to leak or creak
- Happy to save the weight on a T.
- More in line with the clubsport style build I did.

Ultimately I haven't really missed it other than a time or two in the mountains, but I'm so infatuated with the driving that it's a non-issue. I just crack the windows slightly when I want more exhaust note.

Sunroof is a deal breaker for me.

Because many of us have been conditioned to believe in dealership scare tactics. Same thing goes for built in nav when that was an option and pre-paid service contracts. When you actually break down the math, it is never financially advantageous to the buyer. See my earlier response where I gave an objective example of how selecting a sunroof purely for resale value is pointless. https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1399...l#post19291859

The other reason I prefer the metal sunroof is that I like seeing the color of the car on the roof, as opposed to the black glass.

I've had a sunroof in a few other cars. My wife's X3 has one. I can't remember the last time we opened it. The wind buffeting over 25-30 mph is obnoxious, so I don't know when you'd ever drive with it open. My M3 had the carbon fiber roof and my Cayman obviously doesn't have one, and I specced my 992 with my favorite option - ZAC - no sunroof.

Ordered carbon roof on my GTS.
Had leaks into the interior from clogged/corroded drain lines after 4 years in my '19 Range Rover Sport and Lexus (lasted a bit longer before leaking).
I will never get a sunroof again.
