Solar battery maintainer recommendations
As the title says.
Does anyone has previous experiences with one?
Before anyone ask my garage is full of more delicate stuff this year so my 911 will have to go outside
I almost never drive in the winter so the car might sit for 2~3 months depending on the weather.
So I am looking for something durable and reliable with easy set up that will work for both 991 and 992s.
Any recommendation is welcomed

Right, why do you need solar? It is parked in a location that has no access to electricity even using an extension cord? Some people have that problem, when they park in condo/apartment building outdoor spots for example and can't leave a permanent extension cord in place. In those cases, I would buy one of those portable power banks, charge it up, plug the trickle charger into that, and once a week remove the power bank and charge it up inside my house, then return it to the car to power the trickle charger unattended. No solar needed.
Because slapping a solar battery tender and connecting it to the car seems like 2 minute job (still can't believe that the car doesn't have a tender plug like other cars or a saving mode after so many years, but eh) that will require no additional supervision.
Solar tenders are pretty common and cheap, they can't charge the battery that much or even at all but they can keep it from dying.
The car doesn't seem to have too much of a vampire drain compared to others so I expect it to work fine
I guess I will pick something from Amazon and see how it goes.

Um, it does have a plug on the transmission tunnel of the right passenger foot well. Look hard with a flashlight it’s easy to miss.
’No battery drain issues’ bwwaaaah! Might be the number one topic on the board, literally hundreds of threads, especially if you have an Li battery. Stop dinking around and get a proper CTEK with a pigtail attached to the battery for easy connection. Search the threads for background. Good luck.

At least in my experience my 911 has been rock solid with electric drain at least compared to the Ferrari. I guess your mileage will vary.
CTEK does offer a solar option but it is kind of unwieldy
I meant an actual dedicated port for a tender like the magnetic one Ferraris have (in case you drive away and forget to disconnect it).

WE make this and it will work if you have some sun. They work good, you just want to make sure you have decent solar panel that has sufficient watts... 60 to 100watts is best because they capture more of the sun energy than a small wattage like 15/20w. But yes they work quite well.

Anyways because I got zero useful recommendations I ended up buying this one

Will keep you updated on how it does.

I'm curious to see how this product works for you. My concern would be if it is able to provide adequate voltage without fluctuation. In addition, how would it effect the battery to cycle from a charge/discharge state more frequently since power is dependent on weather.

"I’d recommend a weatherproof car cover for protection, and a solar powered generator to keep your 911’s battery charged while it sits outside. Check out Bluetti Power for reliable options!"
