Searched on forum, but couldn't find an answer. Just switched to my Porsche Dealer purchased winter set and the TPMS system is attempting to learn the new tires. I've updated the PMS to indicate that I've installed 21/20 winter tires/wheels, clicked full load, and drove for ten minutes or so above 15 MPH. How long does it generally take for the system to update and clear the warning light? Thanks!
Usually a couple of start stops does it when I switch out my summers for winters. I have noticed, if my summers are in the same location / general area after I put on the winters. I have to drive a bit and make sure my winters register before I pull it back into the garage (where my summers are). As it will pick up on them if they are close.
Try backing out of your garage (if the above case is true). - Start the car from there after it has been off. (at least 30 feet from your summer tires). Drive for 5 - 10 minutes, turn off, start again and repeat. This usually does it for mine if it doesn't register the first drive. Also, if it doesn't work - back away from your garage. Turn it back to summers, go for a drive. Switch it back to winters, away from your garage old tires - that may work as well.
Go to TPMS setup and select a different tire set, then back to the ones you have. Takes a couple minutes driving afterward. I had my wheels powdercoated and they switched the TPMS when reinstalling the tires. Two of the sensors were switched front to back. Stayed that way until I did the re-calibration in TPMS.
Thanks all! Third drive the system finally came to life and recognized the new set.
Had a similar problem which resolved as well except now the My Porsche App shows all 4 TPMS batteries low. Can’t tell if this is a leftover from the Summer Tires (7 month old car - New delivery in April 23) or new separate set of Winter tires/wheels (June 23).
