Wow cheapest model in their lineup, I'd buy one for a friend for $200.
I forgot the "K". lol.

Not if they ever want to sell a limited production car ever again.
The 911 Speedster and Sport Classic have both been released more than once.
Not two years apart or with the same body. Releasing a 992.2 Dakar would **** off every one of the 2,500 people who bought a Dakar and rightfully so. It would make the limited edition absolutely not limited. It's more likely that they will release a similar but different model as a 992.2 and make it a permanent addition to the line up under another name, similar to how the 911R was followed by the GT3T.
A rumor has been floating around for a while that a Dakar-like all terrain 911 would be added to the permanent lineup. These may be the first pictures that suggest the rumor is real. The formula of introducing new concepts through bespoke limited editions to test the waters for future models like the 911R did for the GT3T, may become the norm.

I have heard that too. I believe Johnny Lieberman from the Smoking Tire podcast indicated that all non GT 992.2 will be available with a Safari option. Also some of the Dakar test mules looked like a normal 911 with a Safari option:

I do think the Dakar or "911 Roughroads" makes it into the regular rotation as a non-limited edition, but with key differences. I'd guess no carbon-fiber hood, no fixed rear-wing. Possibly non-adjustable height suspension (probably fixed closer to the "off-road" height of the Dakar) and possibly no rally mode, but still off-road mode.....or, rally-mode and lower fixed setting, but no off-road mode, and fitted with all-season tires only.

No GT3 hood would be a win...
I was pricing a basic 911 4 build the other day...
Give me a 4 with adjustable suspension and some underbody protection and it will be a fantastic winter car!
looks like old 2022 spy photos from the current Dakar. Exact same car, same license plate, etc.
Hmmm. Those pics were apparently taken this past week. Either someone is lying or the 992.2 Safari test mule looks very similar to the Dakar mule.

Likely next fall as an MY25.

Agreed. It won't be Dakar-great but it will be great nonetheless, especially for those of us who missed the boat.
