If you do decide to change caliper colors, here’s a good article to read. They are anodized aluminum, and I would think you would want them done correctly to avoid future corrosion issues.

I know if I were a buyer for a pre-owned 911, I’d have a lot of questions if the calipers were non-standard color.

You just spent the better part of $150k on a new 911. If it were me, I'd leave them. But if you're wed to the idea of painting them then having them removed and powder coated is the right answer. Caliper covers, or having some shop paint them while on the car, is more befitting a first generation Elantra.

People that are telling you to only powder coat just simply do not know or have never had it done. Powder Coating isn't the best. Adds heat. A proper caliper painter is the solution. There is a guy in SoCal Jason Irby of OC Wheel Recon that paints. He paints basically all the calipers done at Newport Lambo, Ferrari and sub contracted by many SoCal Porsche dealers. I tracked my GT3 and got the brakes hotter than most and after 20K miles they cleaned up and looked brand new. You need to find a good painter that does calipers and use them. DIY will look like crap. Powder Coating is fine but not the only solution and will heat up the brakes more.

It really depends on the car. The GTS comes standard with red calipers but you can option black calipers. In that case, they're not going to be different sizes.

I painted my calipers Arena Red to compliment the Black-Bordeaux interior. Black was not an option on an early Turbo build and the Guards Red was too orange for my taste.
Cost is about twice of making the decision at the time of build. I had mine done through the dealer as it would maintain warranty on the brake calipers.

The base has smaller diameter rotors and 4-pots all around. Excellent brakes by almost any standard. They are only available in black. There is no brake upgrade currently available for the base (you used to be able to spec carbon ceramics for a bit under $10K). I'd recommend an aftermarket shop that specializes in powder coat, you can have any color available in high temp finish for a lot less than $1500.

Theyre actually gray. And look really bad once they get wet, like water stains.

Funny, I’ve always had my red steel calipers and yellow ceramic calipers painted black. I’ve never particularly liked the “caliper jumping out of the wheel” look. Different strokes for different folks as they say. Best to just have your calipers painted the color you want, but you should be able to find a better deal than $1500.
