I agree. The ideal of the dealership swapping out my engine makes me cringe. The car is now damaged goods. So, I called Porsche in Atlanta and started a claim. I figured what the hell its worth a shot.
Also, the dealer did end up getting me a loaner car, a Taycan, and they even delivered it to my house...so that's better. It might have to due to the fact the service manager called me today and said they got the engine in! It only took a week. Initially, they said 2-3 weeks via ship. So, I think calling Porsche lit a fire under their ***.
The car is not damaged goods but since you have it in your mind just dump it back to them. The Dealer will sell it over MSRP
It is not like they have a rookie doing this swap
I even ended up after 2 years of Ownership with my 2014 GT3 trading it back to another dealer in 2016 and got top dollar on the trade-in
Personally Id want a whole new car but my rationale is subjective and not grounded in any justification that something is now wrong with other parts of the car. To me, the car now has bad mojo.. but not sure thats a claimable clause......
As to the loaner, I might give the dealer some slack....there is no guarantee, especially if your getting a new car, that they receive any money for loaning out what is essentially their property that could be deployed for other, regular short term work. I do hold PC accountable for providing you with a loader or rental for the period you are carless do to the fact you have paid them in full for something you are not able to use.

It’s just an engine FFS. Irritating sure but, if it’s gotta blow, better now than 5 minutes after the warranty expires. For me the bigger deal is not automatically being given a loan car. Definitely chase that.
The engine they set from Germany turned out to be a transmission lol! I guess it was marked correctly and everything smh. The service manager and I had a good laugh about Germany engineering.
