Default PCCB Shortage?

I have a Targa 4 GTS being built in November and when it configured it, the PCCB's were not available. It's an Aventurine green car with the black Turbo S wheels that I intended to paint Weiss Gold. With that color, I have to have ceramic brakes. The configurator will now allow you to select ceramic brakes but my dealer says his info indicates it's still not available. So he's trying to get that worked out for me. Has anyone had any luck getting Porsche to make any exceptions and if so, how did you do it? I was at the factory last fall and they don't seem like they will ever make exceptions but I'm still going to try. If I lose, I'll have to buy used rotors or aftermarket.

Other option is to have your wheels ceramic coated. The brake dust comes off pretty easily if you keep up with it.

At this point I’m just thinking of keeping steel and getting surface transform, heard great things about them, lighter than steel but not as light as pccb.

Ceramic coating helps but not like ceramic rotors.

Just checked the configurator, not an option to add to targa/coupe gts or 4gts. I have seen a glitch that allows you to option those things in the past but usually prices end up disappearing so you know it is a glitch and not the actual config. Sometimes after you place your build, if you go back into your config, pccbs (and other options) will show up as options when they actually arent available.

Great. What a let down. Looks like the Surface Transforms are about $15,000 so about $5,000 more than factory.

I don't see that on the configurator being available. PCCB has been in short supply for awhile. I think the last time they were available to spec for non-GT cars was in 2022. If you can get it, great. Although the current pads are much dirtier than before.

I bought all the parts needed for OE conversion - rotors, calipers, pads, hardwares. Expensive hell yeah but only need to do it once. I can't stand the regular brake look on the T so went down the path for ceramic.

I see what I did. I was on the international configurator https://configurator.porsche.com/en-...reen=1920x1080. So maybe the PCCB's are not being offered on US GTS models.

So I optioned the black calipers. Are the calipers different with factory ceramics other than being yellow as standard?

On the standard GTS no, but on the base T yes.

I ordered (dec build march delivery) PCCB on my 23 GTS and the option disappeared a few weeks after delivery. But some 23 got them

I heard back from the factory and they said PCCB’s aren’t certified to be installed on a Targa GTS even if supply was available. I didn’t know this.

Your dealer is blowing smoke up your a$$....PCCB is not currently available on any Carrera/Targa models, but 992 Targas were sold with PCCB in 2021-2023 model years.

It wasn’t the dealer, I emailed Sonderwunsch and they told me that. I thought I remembered that carbon ceramics being on the configurator last year.
