Thump over speedbump, underbody spoiler ?
Need some advice. Accidentally went over a speedbump at night without seeing it until it was a bit late. Not that fast, maybe 15MPH, but upon landing felt a moderately loud thump in the front which to me which felt like the undercarriage hitting the ground/bump. I suppose it could also be the sound from the suspension quickly bottoming out.
I looked and the front bumper is perfectly fine. I then looked underneath and saw that the underbody spoiler (plastic part) seems to be a little low. I somehow feel it's naturally like this as there is no breakage but it looked odd to me. If you push on it, it compresses almost like a little springy feeling. One side seems to hang lower than the other (Right lower than left).
For those who have looked under your car, does your undercarriage spoiler have a plastic piece that hangs a bit low too?
The part posterior to the underbody spoiler looks to be made of metal and I presume that's where the thump came from.
Could this cause some sort of problem or suspension imbalance as a result?
