joining on to this. I have the same issue

I like mine and like how it’s got both the front and back cameras integrated with the car, it’s good quality, and records even when parked when detecting motion. The only downsides were that I had to have the dealer install it because it’s more complicated than you’d think and I didn’t want to mess something up and it was even difficult for them to get it set up on my phone. If you have a dealer do it, take it somewhere that actually has experience doing it in the past or they won’t know what to do. Another downside is that I haven’t figured out how to watch footage from the rear camera on my computer. I can only watch the footage from both front and rear camera on the app on my phone.

From what I remember, you are pretty much locked into getting the factory cam if you have the prewire because the voltage supplied is different between the OEM and something like Blackvue

I ordered the prewire for the factory dash cam and then I saw some of the installs and decided that the mounting and cam were too intrusive. It looked at the factory mounting instructions any they mount the cam low and very much in what I feel to be obstructing the windshield. The mounting position along with the 'feature' set of the Porsche dash gam makes it a no-go. I have another plan in place -> Garmin 67W.

I did see and like the mounting of the Fitcamx 4K. I am disappointed it does not have GPS.

Any idea how you got park mode on your 992? I had it dealer installed but don't having the parking mode option in the app available to me.

I see you’re in SoCal. Which dealer did you use for your install?

Has anyone successfully swapped the cameras from one 992 to the next?

I have the camera in my ‘23 and am about to take delivery of ‘24.

I haven’t yet decided if I will transfer the camera to the new car.

if I do I will buy the OEM camera harness and mounting dock.

It costs a reasonable $32 and is a straight forward install.

I ran a simple Google on parts # You are making it way more difficult that it is ECS isn’t even a Porsche dealer and they sell the harness

Hmmm, I have the prewire and my dealer actually installed an M7.
Really sensitive motion sensor that gets activated by minor road imperfections, I should adjust that at some point.
