I am on my 8th or so 911 over the various years (and 2nd 992). I have full PPF on my last 3 911s (both 992's and my 991.2 targa) when I bought them. So I am all in on PPF'ing as a whole.

I have not PPF'd or put any film products on my headlights (mostly due to in the past the delimitation problem). However out side a few minor pitting, I have never had a problem with excessive marks, etc. on any of my 911s headlights - and I use mine as daily drivers and year around (ie. Winter as well).

YMMV...

Most 911 owners don't hold on to their cars long enough for delamination to be an issue. The PPF keeps them clear of pockmarks. I've now owned a 911 without PPF on the headlights and with PPF headlights. I am now firmly in the PPF headlight camp and even PPF'd my Taycan's headlights.

I wonder what the average time it take for the delimitation to occur (if at all)?

My PPF guy wraps around all the edges so removes all components. He told me he believed the delaminating issue was resolved with the 992 and PPFing lenses was no cost difference since the labor was all the same. Made the decision easy for me.

I did it on my 991.2 GTS. Was still there when I traded it in at 4 years with just over 40K miles. No idea if the dealership tried to pull it off or not.

Don't know where this shop is, but from the looks I would pay a premium for his work.

I had my 992 C2 headlights PPF'd, but ended up selling it after 3.5 years. The new shop I'm planning to use for my GTS says they don't normally PPF headlights due to potentially voiding warranty claims and delamination that may occur if removed. Not sure what the best solution is, but I think I'd lean towards doing it again.

Full PPF (except headlights) and around 1100 miles. May want to reconsider.

If only you could send your guy to the factory to do this during assembly.

Big ole rock chip on the right side of the lens. May be worth the risk of delamination with PPF.
