It is def not a fan favorite, but unique all the same, there are colors I would have preferred as well like the dark amethyst PTS but of course it costs to much to even consider it.

Also, can anyone comment on Porsche N. Scottsdale? I am getting my car from Lehi, Utah because they were MUCH easier to work with and no game playing. The lies these dealerships will tell. Good grief.

I am getting RSN and I think it is a beautiful color. I really wanted Moonstone, but am not willing to pay for PTS. I am a female and I do not want the car to scream "I am man hear me roar!!" I never have and never will order black, white or silver of any shade. Part of the fun with these cars is they can get away with colors no other car can IMO. Are there any females on this forum or is it just me?

Also, you're right! I know many people who have regretted buying a silver or white or plain color Porsche, I love that Porsche still continues to offer a wide variety of colors, PTS, and just regular colors. The RSN is so worth 3k its practically free I think considering the years prior it was a PTS only. Also I love Moonstone, though it is a very rare color, I believe it's a washed-out light violet-like color. I do believe there are a few women on this forum, but not many I think make it known.
As far as Porshe Dealerships go, Porsche N Scottsdale is not a dealership worth wasting your time on. they have too many local buyers to even consider trying to get ahead of VIPs getting first dips on all allocations every year. I went there when I was on vacation a while back trying to get an allocation and I got nothing from them, and they act that way because they can. They have many loyal followers buying cars and allocations every year.
It was the same for me at Porsche Las Vegas, I went in, met with the associates, and told them I was set on ordering a T.
I said if they can get me an allocation I would buy from them, and that if they called first they would get the deal, never heard back from them.
So I went with my local Porsche Dealership and they were wonderful, I got a T allocation in December which is what I wanted and is apparently virtually impossible to get anywhere. I pick up my car on July 26th. But the other dealerships lost out on a pretty high spec'd car (I spec'd it out at 155k I think, but many parts were unavailable when it locked in. Like the aero kit and some extra leather options dropped it down to about 143k, which I locked in.

I'll go ahead and rank the colors as presently available. Of course this is opinion.
1. Chalk
2. Gentian Blue
3. Arctic Grey
4. Carmine Red
5. Aventurine Green
6. Agate Grey
7. Racing Yellow
8. Guards Red
9. White
10. Jet Black Metallic
11. GT Silver
12. Shark Blue
13. Ruby Star Neo
14. Ice Grey
15. Black
Chalk is still one of the best colors in a long time. Subtle and different.
Gentian is a great blue, but so was Night Blue. Really sporty. Vibrant, yet not too loud.
Arctic Grey is a phenomenal color and could easily be #1.
Carmine is the better of the two reds, and still a top 5 color. Any of the top 4 could be slotted in various order.
Aventurine Green is tough. It could fall anywhere from 5 to 10 and is a good color but isn't a classic British Racing or another PTS green that is more vibrant. Yet this color is subtle and classy.
Agate Grey is a good color, but a little long in the 911 lifespan now and probably one of the next to be retired.
Racing Yellow is not really that popular and takes specific taste, but you can see how classic it is in sports car heritage and for those who want a bright color, it fits the bill over some of the other new trendy colors like Shark or Ruby.
White, GT Silver, and Jet Black Metallic are all classic safe colors. Nothing wrong with them, but nothing daring either. Yet for some, that is what they like. And no doubt the 911 looks great in almost any color and these 3 are no exception.
I personally am not a fan of Shark or Ruby. They just seem too trendy, statement like colors. Unlike the legacy of Yellow sports cars, these are to me too much. Of course a 992 looks great in any color, but not my cup of tea.
Ice Grey just doesn't have much appeal to me.
And rounding out the list is plain black. No doubt Black cars look great, especially when clean. But get your 992 in another color, or if you have to have black, get Jet Black Metallic and not the base Black.

I agree 110% with everything you said EXCEPT....and of course "color/beauty" is in the eye of the beholder"...I would put Carmine Red at the top...but that's my opinion because that's what I have.
Personally, I firmly believe in 2 things about 911's and their color:
1) any 911 looks good in any color (even Ruby Star Neo and yellow).
2) that being said, the world has enough white, silver and black cars - get something that says something and don't be bashful - it's a 911 for goodness sake, you can't hide so you might as well say "hello"!. (But again that's me.)
I would love to see a limited edition paint color - very limited as in only 15 cars per year worldwide - of a deep (meaning 'depth' not 'dark') metallic bright red. I believe Mazda has a "Sunburst" red in this shade. Sort of a "Candy Apple Red" if you will. About 40 years ago I was in DC and saw a 911 painted this way (obviously aftermarket) and the paint looked like 12" deep. Just stunning! Red is perhaps the hardest color to paint (beside black) but it makes a statement (like "arrest me" I know). Durability can be an issue but these days I think the top paint companies have it figured out - despite environmental regulations.

I understand your reasoning but I do not agree with what you say about the ruby star. (Rubystone Red) It is most definitely a bold color but not made to make a statement. I see it as now a historic color and ties my T with some of the old Carrera rs's that have Rubystone Red.
911: 1991-1992
911 Carrera: 1989
928: 1991-1995
968: 1992
all these cars had it. I am glad they brought back the color as it had not been seen since 1995 in the normal color section, of course, many chose the Ruby stone red PTS over the years but with its redesign (Ruby Star Neo) and the T being redesigned again this Carrera cycle I think its the perfect fit.

I think RSN is an awesome color, and it so nice to see a color in the vast ocean of grey and black. (Pic from Facebook "The Porsche Exchange")
