I have the 14 ways and I find them to be plenty comfortable but not sporty at all. the bolstering is similar to my wife’s X3. I would have preferred a version of the sport seats plus.
Having owned many performance cars, the 18 ways are the best seats I’ve sat in for blending comfort, holding you in place and looks. They would be a requirement for me personally in a car I was buying. The less bolstered seats might be good if someone is larger but you lose a lot in the looks department and in the sporty nature of the car IMO.
My car has the 4-way sports plus seats, they are terrible. No lumbar support and weird protrusion in the center of the back. I would go for 18 ways next time.
Everyone that asks this question should really go sit in the different versions. There’s used stock at many dealerships these days and the hunt is part of the fun!
I have 14way in my 2022 992 and they are great. Wife even likes them, which is unusual as she hated the 18 way in my 991.1.
As far as ventilated, they are a must in hot cities (Houston).
I love my 18 ways but I’m tall and skinny. I can tighten up the bolsters to hold me in place better. I also think they look better. Though I had to pay $1,900 more to add leather to the back of the seat because I see it with the top down and didn’t like the painted seat back against truffle brown leather.
Though overall just to cruise around, the 14 ways felt softer and “comfier” per say.
