In-Depth 992 Carrera Exhaust Series (Flat 6 Motorsports)

The valve controller will be a nice improvement of sound due to the nature of the OEM valve actuation. That being said, it doesn't do anything for tone, this is where an aftermarket system really shines. It all comes down to preference. We really like the improvement in tone an aftermarket system adds.

The 3.0 motor won't provide high pitch, but of the group, I sense more higher pitch tones with the Kline. That and the Akrapovic probably do the best job of bringing some higher pitch tone to the mix. The Soul is a bit deeper with more bass notes. The Tubi, iPE among others are a bit more raw.

and my question is probably the opposite but which exhaust/setup would make it sound more like an NA engine (if even possible with a turbo'd car) or one where the turbos dont just sound like vaccum cleaner gasping for air? I don't like the crackles and pops that sound like a junky ricer and prefer the more engine build up/turbo spooling. Obvious answer is to get a GT3 but since that wasn't an option, how can I get my C2S to sound better without being obnoxiously loud?

Only a different exhaust manifold design can help to get the sound we all really want out of the 3.0 turbo. Equal length manifolds to be specific... Unfortunately that doesn't exist on the market for the 992 (that I know of). They do exist for the 991.2 because their manifolds are known to be restrictive and changing it out provides a performance advantage. Apparently the 992.1 manifolds are very well designed and there isn't really any way to increase flow, so manufacturers assume that there's no market for equal length manifolds... but I'd happily buy a pair just for the sound improvement alone.
This guy's videos were enough to convince me that equal length is the key to getting fantastic sound out of the 3.0 turbo engines.

@Flat6Motorsports do you think any of your supplier partners would be interested in doing equal length manifolds? I'm confident that it could be a popular item if designed and marketed well for sonic improvement alone. I could imagine arriving at a pleasing result just by doing the headers, maybe 200 cell cats, and leaving the stock PSEs in place with a tune to open up the valves. That would help to make the cost of manifolds (let's assume $4-5k USD) more palatable.

We have a 992 CS in the shop we're putting an inconel on (among other things), I'll let you know if I have any back to back insight.

The Kline Inconel just from a quick reaction take: has a little more depth to the exhaust note. I'll post a quick rev video later.
