PDK & Short Block internals by Trim Level
Howdy,
I'm curious of how robust the PDK and short block are by trim level. Meaning does the base, s and 4s have the same internals in the PDK? Same short block? GTS the same or different? I know that the turbo cars are going to be beefed up in all areas but curious about the first few trim levels.
Thanks!

Carreras are all the same internals afaik. Larger turbos only on S/GTS. Turbos obviously have a different motor, but I'm not so sure about the PDK.

I'd say that everything is the same up to the Turbo. I was trying to determine how robust everything is and how it might fare if tuned. GTR's haven't changed aside from Turbo inlets in 2012. The car has went from 485 to 600 hp in stock form over those years. The car can safely make more power than that with a tune. I'd eventually like to do a tune on my car but prob wait for warranty to close out.

FWIW, there is a "The Smoking Tire" vid on youtube, where Matt is reviewing a 991 or 992 911, where he stated that a talk with a Porsche engineer revealed that a PDK is rated for several thousands of launches (via/launch control). I don't recall the number but it equated to a launch per day, for some double digit number of years.
