Does anyone have an idea how long the AGM batteries last? If they were installed to support the start/stop function, will it increase the life of the battery if you turn that function off all the time?

Just keep it in sport and it will never come on....or as soon as you start the car, press that option off...then no need to even worry about the battery.

-In general a AGM Battery lasts from 3 years to 7 year and some report 10 years or more.
-The fact is any deep overdischarge on your AGM Battery will damage it and dramatically lower its lifespan, that is the single most relevant issue to damageing and AGM/Lead-Acid Battery of any type and having a short lifespan.
-Another factor is simply there is a high general amount of inconsistancy in making Lead/Acid batteries, or perhaps the chargers you put on them because you will have the same model by the same brand last 2 years for one guy, and 5 years for another and they both might have treated it well. Perhaps it was the charger, perhaps the maintenace done by the owner? No one will know because the data isn't really reported. But just search under batteries and you will see how many fail early, or have great lifespans.
-Last, the manufacturer of Lead/Acid Battery have decreased the quality to only last a few year in more modern batteries as this provides a mean to increased revenue as compared to batteries lasting 10 year like they used to with the thicker lead/acid plates and better construction

You mean “If your car has Rear Axle Steering (RAS) then it is a lithium-ion, aka Li-ion battery”

Because the absence of RAS does not guarantee AGM. Just ask the Canadians.

Not sure about Canadian cars, but cars with RAS in the US are being delivered with a AGM battery. The battery in my car with RAS is part number 992915105b, so it looks like RAS cars are getting an 80ah battery, while other cars are getting a 70ah battery.

All Canadian 992s - and vehicles in other northern climates - are delivered with LiFePO4 batteries.

This battery is in my 2022 992 turbo s

The LIN connector is single wire. Did not have continuity to ground from what I can tell. Need to probe more. Different part number, battery is quite small the space can accommodate a battery 2 inches longer.
