Default gauges show different temperatures

Was noticing that when I toggle between the reduced screen and normal scree the temp gauge does not match. In the reduced screen it does not go over 194 degrees, while the other it will go up to 212 degrees. I am concerned what the real temps are? why doesn't the reduced screen go over 194? Also when you start the car cold, the reduced screen temp goes up way faster than the regular. none of the gauges ever match. the logos are also different is that coolant temp or oil temp? the temp never goes above 194 in the reduced screen

Isn't one oil temp (top display) and one coolant temp (minimized display)?

Look to the right of the top display, you will see coolant to the right of the oil display...

i saw that, but not sure why they would only show oil temp and not coolant in the reduced display.
the oil temp never goes above the 194 degrees, which is odd

One is oil temp the other is coolant temp. You can customize the display to show both oil temp and coolant temp at the same time (that is how I have mine configured alongside oil pressure and boost pressure). If you do so, the coolant temp on your full display will match the one on your reduced display.

The reason the oil temp does not rise much under regular driving is because it is thermostatically managed, where just the right amount of oil is diverted to the cooler to maintain the temperature as constant as possible.

I think you have it backwards - Oil temp will go up to 200+ - Coolant will/should stay around 194ish (unless an issue).

I like to see them both regardless, as I know when the car is up to temp (on both coolant and oil) and you can let loose :-)

Both are relatively constant under regular driving. The only time I see my oil temp significantly rise is when I am on track.

coolant temp is the one at 194 and oil is the one at 210 in the photos, as other have stated. Notice the icons. Agree that oil temp is the one I have to babysit on track with my C63.

Same here; it takes around 5 miles for the coolant to get up to temp at this time of year, around 10 miles for the oil. Oil temp does vary a bit, even in normal driving.

It’s not my favorite feature. Waiting to nail it till the oil is at temp is extremely painful.

As others have said... you're getting two different number because they're two different temperature readings. One is for your oil and the other is for your coolant. Usually people look at coolant temperature to know when their engine is "warm".... this is what most cars are showing when they show engine temperature. Then when you load "more info" it shows oil temperature.

I've been taught that you want the oil temp to get up above 200°F especially in my plane. Short flights ( or worse - starting the engine and not flying )- like short drives were the worst for a plane and simialr to the car. You want the oil to be able to get up to a temp where any moisture in the crankcase from shut down cool down had a chance to boil off/ evaporate. As stated symbols for Oil and Coolant temps are different. Also customize to make it look how you like it.

It kind of sucks that the reduced view shows coolant and not oil temp. I like the reduced view but I am more focused on the oil temp. Does anyone know if/how you can change that. i have played around with it and can't seem to find an option.

Curious if anyone found a solution to show oil temp in reduced view?
