The contortions are challenging... glad I got black leather, not to mention that due to a lack of seat belt adjustment height your carotid is in danger of being severed once (finally) in. Seat wear must be even worse with alcantara.
Don't wear jeans??????????????????????? Did my wife call you????????
Just be careful if you apply unapproved products on leather. I sell about 800 pieces of leather upholstery a year and invariably there are one or two that have hide issues where the leather is coming apart, and of course the customer will say its defective and demands a replacement. What we do in that case is send the hide to the tannery and they in turn send it to a lab for testing and 99% of the time the lab comes back and shows an unapproved chemical was used on the leather at which point any replacement or warranty coverage is denied. In the 36 years I've been doing this, only one single sofa truly had defective leather (and was replaced for the client).
Your money, your choice. Just be aware on high ticket leather items (some of our sofas are $ 10K) we do lab test. I have no idea if Porsche does or not, but I won't use a coating on the leather in any of my three Porsches personally.
Thank you for your valuable insight. Perhaps its better to just enjoy the semi-aniline leather and let it develop a natural patina over time - including denim stains!
That is caused by your entry into the seat, its friction wear. It is not the leather, its the user sliding across the bolster. Some tips
* Pay attention to how you get into the car, don't drop into it, don't slide into if (if you can, requires stronger core muscles!)
* Remove your wallet from your right pocket if you carry it there, that's a huge friction point
* See if your belt on your pants is catching that area as you enter the seat, the thicker the leather on the belt, the more chance of it catching.
* Don't wear jeans. All jeans have sewn-on rear pickets - another friction point.
Do not ceramic coat your leather. There is not a single leather tannery in the world that recommends that. Clean and Condition with a premium leather maintenance product and wear sweatpants <g>
interesting, after having a black leather interior, I was paranoid about the cognac/black exclusive, hence the ceramic coating. Maybe a massive screwup, time will tell.
Im ordering a C2S Coupe and want to get the Heritage Design Interior Classic package in Cognac. However, I dont want leather inlays (which come standard with this package). Id like to have the Paldao inlays (as in the Sports Classic). Nevertheless, the configurator doesnt allow this combination. When I try to select Paldao inlays, the configurator asks me to remove the Heritage package and select a different interior leather and color.
On to my question: wondering if anyone has been able to select this Heritage Design Package - Classic with Interior Trim Inlays in Paldao though a different route, via the dealer, using CXX codes, or anything else. If anyone has done this, would greatly appreciate your insights on how to do it.
