Default Track wheels

I am looking at getting some Adrianne light weight dedicated track wheels for my 992 C2S. Had some advice that going 20” all around was a good way to go but when I try to find cup2 or equivalent tires this actually seems harder and more expensive than getting the staggered set up from Porsche or discount tire. What are people’s thoughts on this?

Since I track a lot and don’t want to drive on bald tires particularly in the rain I went with 19/20” track wheels to maintain the stock stager and to have more tire options. This has worked out pretty well, initially I used Goodyear SuperCar 3 tires which are a little slower than Cup2s but way cheaper and last longer, also Cup2s fall off more than SC3 when hot. For max grip I use SC3Rs. These tires offer incredible grip, but don’t last long, and availability has recently been an issue in 245/305 sizes. Some of the fastest 911’s at the track run 19” with SC3Rs in 265/325. The 325s are always in stock at a good price since they are used on the Camaro in large numbers. You can only get 245/305 on 19/20” when they are in stock. The other tire that looks interesting is the Goodyear Supersport R (one of the OEM tires on the GT3) in 20/21” picked up a set at Simple tire when they were on sale at $600 off. These have a larger contact patch than a 19” 325.

19/20 opens up some cheaper light weight wheels. Tires however-at least now- seem to be as expensive it more expensive than the 20/21 options! Don’t get it…

I’ve generally seen 19/20 tires at lower prices than 20/21. For Cup2s which is one of the few tires you can get in both sizes the 19/20 is about $150 less. However, I’ve noticed on popular sizes prices can be lower even if it uses more rubber. Example Toyo RR in a 325 costs $130 less for 2 tires compared to 315.

Is anyone running all (4) 19's or (4) 20's on a 992? If so, is there an issue with diameter / stagger and how do you compensate? Is the rubber $ savings worth it? A set of 19's all around for autocross would seem to be advantageous, if it didnt create other issues with the traction / braking/ clearances/ vectoring, etc.
