Default Driving without the door panel?

I've been chasing rattles forever it seems and I removed the passenger door panel and fixed some loose parts. After a while a new rattle started and feels like it could be the door or the dash and I'm having a real difficult time tracking it down.

Can I still drive with the door panel removed? I figure this would help eliminate the door panel as a cause of the rattle....wondering if the door latch will stay locked while I drive

You would; have no stereo speakers on that door. I guess you could open the door by pulling on the rod that connects to the door pull, but it would be loose and flopping around. I just had the door panels off to install trim.

Can you have someone else drive while you sit on the passenger side and try to listen for the rattle? While you can drive the car w/ door card off, what if the rattle only happens when the door car is installed? You'd need the door card installed to diagnose the rattle.

I would also recommend contacting Musicar and buying their sound damping and acoustic treatment kit for the doors. That got rid of all my door rattles and massively improved the bass in my car. Best part is, the doors don't rattle when I crank the bass.

Try pushing on the upper trim piece behind the door latch release handle. That was where one of mine was. They changed the construction method in the 992 to use plastic rivets vs screws and that seems to be causing the majority of problems along with the wiring harness in the door. All in an effort to save a few pennies.
