I am more of a practical kind of guy . I try to approach things in a calm manner
there is a problem : splatter on the inside of the car
focus : not on what caused it and who is responsible , I will focus on solution
solution obviously has a cost . If minimal I eat it under the flag stuff happens
if significant cost : talk to dealer and PCNA I would not be surprised if they cover part or all of it out of goodwill
problem solved
Looks like someone smashed the windshield, tried to cover it up, no other reason over spray polish would be on both sides of the glass, and not on other areas of the car.
Plus have you ever tried to fit an orbital polisher into the space where the windshield meets the dash? and still have space to "spray" compound around? not likely
That sunlight sensor panel in the middle of the dash is the smoking gun that tells you it was out of the car when it got splattered — either that or else whoever did it was able to clean it off the rest of the dash, windshield and all those little grilles perfectly but not the sensor panel.
I just got home from a late work event, but on the way there, it occurred to me to contact the delivery company (Bears) that had the car shipped to me from California. As was the case with Liz at Bears throughout the delivery, she called me within minutes of me sending her an email and immediately sent me a link to her treasure trove of photos. Sure enough, there are several photos clearly showing the stuff splattered all over the sun sensor while it was sitting in the parking lot of Porsche Downtown LA. So case closed on whether this happened after the car was delivered to me or by my detailer. I expect this will easily be resolved once I download the photos and send them to the dealer in LA and the service center here in Atlanta.
The driver took an impressive number of photos, so I still have to look through them and sort out all of the most useful ones, and I will share some here once I do that tomorrow.
A few pre-transport photos attached--the originals and versions of the same photos that are zoomed in on the sun sensor. These were taken by the transport driver, so he was only concerned with exterior photos. But I got lucky that a few photos captured the dash, confirming that whatever is there now was also there when the car was still in LA. Also attached a photo of the whole car that he took.
I sent the sun sensor photos to the sales guy and he's getting back with his service manager now that we know it was like that before it left their dealership.
Original of windshield - passenger side. Zoomed in from the passenger side. Original of windshield - driver side. Zoomed in from the driver side. Can only see a small part of the sensor, but easy to see the mystery substance. 2,186 miles from home.

Good thing you have those
photos! Things should move for you now. Hopefully they don’t say “bring it in and we’ll take care of you”…..that’s quite the drive
