Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum I just joined.
I just had a question. So I just ordered a 992 Porsche 911 base around two months ago and I'm still waiting on an allocation and delivery date.
Anyone know how long this will typically take because I've been hearing that some orders are taking over a year just to arrive.
The question is not how long but what did you order? Plus what options are you ordering? I wanted the Aerokit in high gloss black. I had to wait 2 allocation groups. My car is scheduled to start production on Nov 18th and delivered 12/23. Total time ~15 months. Still a lot of stop sale options, ceramic brakes is still a stop sale. Good luck with Aerokits! Order a base car with very little and you'll get it fast.
Without an ADM and/or a desirable trade, your wait will end when demand is less production-which could be years. Dealers generally give allocations in the order of profitability.
Oh well that's not good, I did order mine with an aero kit on a base 911 and did not go for the ceramic brakes, also I got a interior colour that was an extra
You're getting a ton of awful replies above. Forgive them, they're terrible ambassadors for RL and for the brand.
The best answer I can give you is my own experience since I also recently took delivery of a base 992. My wait - from the point you're at now - was nearly 14 months. I can also tell you that I dealt with a really good SA and a good dealership and they recently told me that they are telling new customers that it's a 2 year wait. And that's across all models, variants, colors, etc, everything is 2 years. These guys gave me a great purchase experience so I have no reason to doubt their 2 year estimate. Your biggest wait will probably be for the allocation to come through. That's the hardest process because it's so "opaque", you just have to be patient. After that you will have access to TYD and that gives you a little more insight into the rest of the process.
Good luck!
Thank you so much for the information but wow I did not expect it will take this long, Yes right now the dealership told me I should be expecting to put my 30% down this or next month, and then after they will give me an estimate. Currently everything with them has been going great so I hope it won't take long. But again thanks for the information

Same person who started this thread and won’t provide details on their statements:
I started the process at the beginning of September 2021. My car should arrive in Jacksonville on a boat early next week. Getting closer to delivery. The wait was much longer than originally indicated by my SA (which is why I ended up choosing this username). They are now telling folks that it is a 2 year wait. The demand is quite high.
I spent the majority of the 1+ year lurking here and reading all the RL 992 posts. I have to say that I have learned a lot. Everything from issues with the Li-Ion battery to PPF to negotiating Tire and Wheel protection has been extremely helpful.

Thanks for telling me, yeah I just learned about this website and its great, looks like ill be reading in it for a year. Thanks for the info I guess my wait time will be around a year as well, I just hope it can be less because my son is going off to uni in around 8 months and he's the one who convinced me to buy it. He really wants to get to see it
Also congrats!!!!! Hope you have the most fun with the car.
Anecdotal, but I entered an order demand back in April for a c2s for a fairly standard build, received an allocation in August by virtue of someone dropping from the list, and should be taking delivery sometime this month. I was given a 10-14 month wait estimate initially, no trade ins, paying msrp, and no real prior relationship with dealer.
I should be getting my order confirmation this or next month in which after I'll put in my 30% deposit. So I hope it doesnt take as long as a year
If they are asking for a 30% deposit I would be suspect. That is unusual from all I have read on RL. I was required to put a $5000 deposit for an allocation.
