ADM - Current Situation

You'll most likely lose more on the depreciation on the BMW M8 Comp and/or SL55 than you would paying an ADM.
Understood... but I always do 24/36 mo.lease. Those cars mentioned, interestingly enough, were 2023's on the dealer lots ready for test drives, etc. I'm just so fed up being loyal to the P. brand and the dealer for so many years and having to deal with ADM...

Plus your plan assumes that ADMs will be a thing of the past in 1-2 years. Not sure that's a safe assumption, nor a right one.

even if you lease them , you are stuck for 3 years
2 year lease deals are crazy expensive in particular with AMG
probably , it will cost you close to 30 k a year to lease these cars for 3 year term ,

Being fed up with ADM's on my 992 Carrera S search, I wandered over to 2 local BMW dealers looking at M8 Competition Coupes, no ADM, one dealer quoted 5% off MSRP. Also stopped by MBZ dealer, no ADM on any of their AMG SL 55's.
So go to the dark side for a year or two, then come back?

That should tell you where the demand is on those vehicles, and should be a hint of how much you're going to lose when you go to resell.

My local Merc dealership is still trying to offer a mark-up on the SL's but I was told, being a repeat customer, I can get one at MSRP... I stopped by at my selling P Car dealer last week. Only 2 new 911's in stock...a Turbo and a C2S...C2S has a $25k mark up...not sure about the Turbo. My sales guy mentioned it's still about a year wait for a 911 allocation right now, though, I think that's a bit overstated.
C2 = $15k ADM
C2S + C2T = $25k ADM
GTS = $35k ADM
C2 = $15k ADM
C2S + C2T = $25k ADM
GTS = $35k ADM

Yesterday I took delivery of my new 2023 Cabriolet.
I paid MSRP for the new car plus an additional $8000 was required by the dealer - which could be considered an ADM.
However, for that added cost of $8k ppf was applied and a 2 year extension to the Porsche warranty was included.
In other words I received something tangible for the $8k.
The other aspect to be considered, for me, was I traded a 2021 992 coupe - my trade value from the dealer was the actual MSRP I paid for the car 11 months ago.
In "normal" times zero depreciation over 11 months would be unheard of and I would argue would have been substantially more than the $8k added to the new cars cost.
In my situation the deal made sense.

I got an MSRP allocation for a base Carrera 4 (lightly optioned) in early September 2023. Build date was in November, European delivery in January. The dealer didn't want to sell at first but all of the sudden things worked out. I was willing to wait but it happened quickly. Not sure exactly why. This is in the midwest.

I was thinking about ordering a Cayenne S, but given the current situation I decided to look at BMW and Audi. I ordered a BMW X5M this week, I have owned a X5, X6M and M5 in the past and I have nothing against BMW cars or SUV's. They gave me a fair price for my trade in and $4K off MSRP on the new car. I saved another $5400 in taxes by trading. I will have my SUV by the end of March 2024 with no import bans or shipping issues like Porsche seems to often have.
I had dinner with a friend who works for PNA last night. I asked him about the import ban and his wife said, "Oh, I guess the cat is out of the bag". Apparently he did not know that the public even knew about these Porsche issues.

BMW Manufacturing employs 11,000 people at its eight million square-foot campus. The Spartanburg plant assembles the BMW X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, and XM Sports Activity Vehicles and Coupes and their variants.
The X5 Xdrive 50e BEV is the only BEV I would consider as it is also eligible for the tax credit as SUVs an MSRP, of $80,000 or less to qualify for the credit.

The BMW X5 is built in Spartanburg, South Carolina so there would not be any import or major shipping issues.

It is starting to seem like Porsche just does not want to sell cars. I understand that they need a marketing strategy, playing hard to get I guess? Well, there are manufacturers who actually want to sell you a vehicle if Porsche becomes too complicated.
