I remember this from the Cayenne 3rd gen forum. Looks cool, just don’t think it is $600 cool with no more/new usable features.

I have a 2018 Volvo w/ CarPlay - wired CarPlay. I bought one of those hardware dongles that plugs into the USB jack in my console and makes it wireless, CarPlay2Air. I think I paid $125 for it. It is great.

Of course the 992 has wireless CarPlay so that doesn't matter.
Now he is offering full screen CarPlay for like $250 or the complete experience where the software actually makes the spacing right for $650 or so. Not sure what the coding difference is to make that happen, but we are talking 2x+ the cost.

To put it into context, my:

Escort RedLine360c was $800 or so.
Blackvue DR-900X-2Ch dashcam was $500 or so.

and I have yet to purchase but consider an M-Engineering Tune at $2,500 which is pricey but I hear quite a good tune, is appealing and feel there is good value.

Not sure a $650 version of full screen CarPlay in line with that. That's just my opinion. I can see $129 for the base version and $199 for the better version. That would make sense.

For the longest time I didn't like the icons on the side, showing album art for a station that wasn't playing. Then I found out I could permanently change it to the AC functions including controlling how hard or soft the airflow is. I did that and it's less obtrusive and right at your finger tips. The far right of the screen is far away I don't really need to engage with it and it isn't really part of my driving view.

Thanks for the feedback in term of the pricing. And really appreciated that.

however the modification is not coding, it requires UI to be recompiled in manufacturer standard. if it just coding then it wouldn’t be that hard, and no development is needed. I guess everyone could even do that by themselves.

In order to make it to work, there are a lot development work and resources involved.

Got my install done last night and concur with the other positive posts here!! Everything went very smoothly. All I had to do was plug a usb/ ethernet adapter and memory stick and sit back to watch as everything was done remotely. Looks and operates just like the oem installs on my other vehicles. Highly recommend!

$250 for all forum members with discount code

You get full screen android auto
PCM5 does not support wireless android auto, only wireless CarPlay.

but to get the wireless android l, you can by a Motorola MA1 adapter it will turn your wireless android auto to wireless

innovativesoft 11-11-2022 07:59 PM

this has nothing to do with your phone update,
whatever you do on your phone will not have any impact to the car system.

I do have a question, I have 2 vehicles that need to be updated and both fall within the range of PCM5. Based on your experience do you think I'd need to purchase the update twice or would I be able to pay once and have it updated on both of my vehicles? Just wondering if the price is for the leg work or for the access to the update? Thanks.

innovativesoft 11-14-2022 03:36 PM

Not sure if this was addressed in the thread. Can this update also allow one to use the CarPlay keyboard at all speeds?

innovativesoft 11-15-2022 02:06 PM

The update will give you HD CarPlay and android auto like PCM6, it doesn’t change anything else.
but I am not sure which keyboard are you referring to, best way to contact me on the WhatsApp for more detail

I would like to share my experience. Raymond replied fast on whatsapp, no matter what time you msg him. After payment, I couldn't do it and texted him 3 days later, fast response, he sent me the files to download on a USB, he prepared it in 3 minutes. After memory USB was ready, I used a MacBook air with boot camp, emulating windows, connected the computer to the car via ethernet and USB inserted on car. He did everything in 20 minutes, I didn't do anything on the computer, in the meantime, Raymond explains all the process via whatsapp. Go grab a beer in the meantime. =D Everything was great, now my PCM5 have android auto, I recommend him.
