I plugged my Apple MagSafe Charger puck into the center console and little rectangular tray and put some double sided command strip on it to keep it place. Just pop it open and drop my phone on it when I need to charge and drive. Otherwise, it is in my pocket. I won't do the charger/holder/etc. on the console on some sort of arm or other.
Doing a lot more surgery on my 08 V8 Touareg to install it, as I don't have (other than an audio out port) any connections inside the glove box. Looking around for unobtrusive places other than the glove box which is already full of essentials given how small it is. Thanks

So funny, that’s exactly what I did and though it’s so bad I have to stick this in here when any old Honda has wireless charging lol.
mounted it just like Drew ran the ware straight back to the cigarette lighter port in the passenger footwell, where I plugged in a cig->usb adapter - this one
- which works great, and gives me a spare/empty USB-A port. It even came with a cable I don't need!
I can confirm that this is very stable; it doesn't even twist easily as the mount in my other car does. Note I do not use a phone case.
I'll take pix later if there's interest - suffice to say I'm finally happy with a car mount in the 992. My install / location looks just like Drew's, which he posted pix for in another thread.
I usually do not like vent mounts, but this one is installed solidly and has left me confident. I have a vague worry about damaging the vent, but I don't think that's a real concern.
EDIT: Rennlist sucks at links to Amazon. This has been a troublesome post to get right.

I find I rarely need to charge while in the car so in the console works and I personally don't want something sticking out of the vent like that in my car. On the flip side, I do have a Belkin vent mount in my SUV, but that I don't mind as it is my SUV.
EDIT: Looked at that for my SUV since it charges too, but reviews said it gets really hot.

Yep, alas my armrest is already full... I'll see if I can migrate some stuff to the glove box. The excellence in design of the Touareg includes not only a double sun visor but also has a double arm rest with two compartments nestled in each other. So crap is in the bottom deep one and charger and phone on the top one.
Here are a couple pix of how I have that charger installed; before I installed this, I just kept the phone in my pocket, but I do prefer having it mounted w the magnet and visible/accessible.
I haven't tucked the wire yet, but it should be trivial to tuck it up behind that trim piece.
Thanks. I currently have the ProClip set up and I really like it as it makes the phone available, doesn't block any vents or risk breaking a slat but of course doesn't have a magsafe. They may have one available now so I've sent them an inquiry if there's any way to upgrade the standard clip to a magsafe one. If not I'll do the arm rest for the charging period and rely on the ProClip for non charging mount.

Ah - love proclip; had it in several previous cars. Unfortunately they don't support the manual 992 given how/where they install. The vent mount I have is fine, but I'd def prefer a proclip.
though the video doesn't show the console 992 application but gives you an idea. And of course as @dhirm5 mentioned only works with PDK not MT.

My issue is, and maybe I'm a little too (fill in the blank) but I think a lot of us are.
I don't want a white Apple MagSafe puck as part of it, out in the open, otherwise messing up the aesthetic of my interior, when I already don't want something mounted within view messing up the interior visual. So if I did get a vent option, it would be some Amazon integrated solution like others have posted that is all black. I originally had a black Tozo puck in center console and switched that to a more expensive Apple branded MagSafe puck because the iPhone got too hot from the Tozo and from what I read about these other options on the Amazon reviews is that many if not all of those do as well.
In that case, and with all due respect, I would rip out the shaver just as a start because talking of "aesthetics" that's not an eyesore it's a stab in the eye. Unless the car was a Braun of course...

With all due respect, I've never really wanted any crazy mounts in any vehicle, but certainly not in my 911. However, I don't have a shaver as my car is equipped with 3 pedals.

You don’t have a shaver, you have a “personal massager” in yours then.
