Default Insurance, oh my!

I have all of my personal insurance with AIG Private Client. Was just quoted 5,800 for 250-500-100 on my 2022 targa GTS with agreed value of 195k. My household has 1 small windshield claim the last 3 years. I’ve read all the threads, this sounds very high. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help.

Change the word sounds to IS. Sorry, I know this isn't helpful but you're about to get multiple replies with lower dollar amounts from other members using other companies so you don't need any more from me.

Try calling Hagerty Insurance. 1-800-922-4050
I will say however that I called them about 5-6 weeks ago to get a price for my incoming C4GTS and they didn't have pricing for 2023 models at that time. Definitely hoping they have them now. Just mentioning that for any other 2023 owners. Also, if you are a PCA Member mention it. If I remember right they may get 10% off and a multi-car discount as well. For a reference I live in Florida and just renewed my 2022 Panamera Turbo S with full coverage & $200K value for $3,500.

Easy to get quotes online these days.
Unless you're in a high risk group, shouldn't have to pay over $2000.
Low risk pleasure only users can be under $1000.

Where? Please post. Cause if that's true, I'm getting robbed. And once I made the mistake of getting online quotes. Within minutes my phone and email got bombarded.

I jumped ship from Progressive when my car was delivered because they limit coverage to cars worth less than $150k. At least one other national name-brand carrier has the same policy (maybe Nationwide or Allstate? I don't remember). I moved all our policies over (home, auto, motorcycle, and added an umbrella policy at this point) for simplicity's sake and to maximize discounts. I worked with a local broker who shopped everything around and found that Hanover Insurance was the best option. My 911 (agreed value @ $185k) is around $1100 and our 2018 Audi S5 is around $1500.

I'm pretty sure they screwed up because the GTS was new for the '22 model year, and am fully expecting a decent jump in the policy cost next year -- so I'll just have our broker shop us around again if I'm not thrilled with the revised pricing.

Yep

I am paying $1100 for my 2022 GTS Cab from Central but I also bundle my Home and 2 other cars.

I will also put it in hold from Jan-Mar( Winter) so I get a credit back for those 3 months

I don't find Hagerty cheap at all for an old M3 with them, only $30K agreed value. I can't imagine what they would charge for a $195K car. I would try NCM Insurance - apparently they don't just insure Corvettes.

Have you talked to your agent/broker? I had a quote of nearly $5k through my insurance (PURE) and the agent was able to get it cut in half. This is for a TTS and later GT3T.

I could have gotten a cheaper rate through another company but I have my homeowners, umbrella, and jewelry with PURE so it made sense to keep it under one roof.

A lot of this is location dependent too. I also wouldn’t just get the cheapest insurance you can find. I’d rather pay a little more if the trade off is superior service.
