Matrix Headlight reprogramming revisited
My only variation was <Garage-Door-opener-Coding-Values>, whose value was blank. It was also grayed-out, preventing value entry. I'll see if I can get dashboard PCM to accept the clicker signal, instead.
It still gets dark late here, so I just went out for a short test drive. No one flashed my headlights, so I think it's a success. I have Night Vision, but had no pedestrians or deer to test special effects. I'll have a better idea in the fall.

When driving on dark roads, the lights seemed to skip around the road and actively avoid lighting up other cars and trucks. Everything around it looked like I had high beams on, but the objects you would not want to blind were dark. I'm assuming this is what it should look like?

Same, Took delivery of mine 1.5 months ago, They work as intended despite some Claiming they wouldn't have Full Functionality.

I had the matrix headlights on my '22 Cayenne coded for full functionality last Monday by Anthony Wong of 99X and have been trying to verify that all available features work correctly.
I assume that I should now have the "encounter light" feature described in a "Canada only" section of my owners manual which says, "The light distribution is briefly changed so that the lane being driven on is illuminated brightly. This draws the direction of vision onto the lane being driven on. The driver is less dazzled by oncoming traffic."
Have you noticed this "encounter light feature"? I've driven on dark 2-lane rural roads with no vehicles ahead of me in my lane for over an hour since Monday and I can't see any increase in brightness in my lane as an oncoming vehicle approaches and passes by me on my left. If you have noticed this feature, does it happen only under other specific conditions?
I also haven't seen the 3-flash pedestrian warning (which requires the Night Vision Assist option) but maybe that has been because the pedestrians weren't close enough to the road edge and/or there was too much light from street lights. If you have Night Vision Assist, have you noticed the 3-flash pedestrian warning happen?
It won't be a deal breaker if I don't have these two features. I'm very pleased with how well the matrix headlights now work. I went for another late night rural drive tonight just for the fun of seeing the headlights dance. I recorded a video with my dashcam on Tuesday night that shows some of the matrix headlights new-to-me behavior and put a link in a thread in the Cayenne forum if anybody on the 992 forum is interested: https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...-enabledo.html

I couldn’t be happier with the result, but most importantly, the peace of mind knowing he was present in person as it was performed with a genuine and most up to date PIWIS III, was priceless. Anthony’s Official “Porsche Partner” status, coupled with his background at IBM and in Aerospace reverse engineering was quite impressive and reassuring.
I appreciated how he meticulously explained every step of the process and answered my questions, quelling all of my concerns about the integrity of the programming, as well as the likelihood of the Dealer potentially erasing the coding (extremely small likelihood, ex. New headlights get installed after collision). Regular PCM updates from a dealer will not wipe the activation, unless there is a catastrophic failure or error of the PCM, requiring a full blast of the image to reinstall the program from scratch. Anthony can explain the how and why much better than I can articulate.
I was left with the impression that the process and equipment ($800+ power supply, $38,000 Genuine PIWIS III) he utilizes coupled with his background and familiarity was far superior to myself utilizing a PIWIS clone remotely.
He stresses the importance of being able to provide stable power, on-demand (up to 100 amps on his power supply), to a vehicle electrical system to support module reprogramming, thus preventing potential errors and supporting the health of the battery during the entire process.
Further, I did not lose any functionality such as Homelink, after the activation. Other features available in Germany such as the Comfort Access auto-up/down windows and sunroof via fob button press were a nice added bonus to it all.
Anthony’s passion for Porsches and its community is exemplified through his customer service and attention to detail. I would absolutely entrust another vehicle to him without question.
The functionality of the newly activated feature is next level fantastic and money well spent.
