Default New Configurator

Porsche has launched a new configurator in Germany and I guess is rolling it out across Europe and the rest of the world over time. You can get to it from the Porsche Germany page: https://www.porsche.com/germany/mode...modelrange=911
My minor in German way too many years ago to be helpful, and Google isn't always great at auto-translating in Chrome. But it looks like with a little manipulation of the URL you can get the new configurator to show in English.
For example, the Cabriolet configurator page from the German homepage is this: https://configurator.porsche.com/de-DE/model/992310 which is German, understandably.
If you replace "de-DE" with "en-US", though, you get to an English version of the page: https://configurator.porsche.com/en-US/model/992310

Seems to work for the handful of models I checked. Just open the model from here https://www.porsche.com/germany/mode...modelrange=911, change the URL to en-US, and load the page.
Here's the Targa 4GTS page in English as another example: https://configurator.porsche.com/en-US/model/992540

Pretty slick new update to the configurator, and it seems to show every option I tested. It will roll out to the US and other places eventually but I'm impatient.

It is pretty slick, but I don't see any difference in functionality. I still can't get it to show deviated stitching, and no 360* view like the configurator from several years ago. Am I missing something?

I think it's nice that it shows the options, but (and I take my opinion as just another fool's on the internet) I think the UX is terrible. Would have been better I think to have modals showing the options on hover - this scroll stuff is for the birds. Like a design team was just looking to generate work.

The way the options are laid out on mobile is a bit overwhelming but I assume this is meant to be used on a desktop lol

@null s suggestion would be nice

I happen to be able to read German just fine. I went through and see a few surprises. Could not see the Bose Sound System option. Homelink now costs like $400 and even Smoker Package is not free anymore. All in all my 2020 car with same config is now $10k more 😳. Some of the details they show is pretty nice but overall not a big deal of change.

I saw bose for 1400 euros in audio section for c2s cab, not sure if there is a premium pack but I assume it's there somewhere

I started with Base Model…maybe not available for Base anymore …or I missed it as I was looking on my mobile and it’s a lot of scrolling.

Interesting. They added a shot in the summary from the rear. However, the biggest item still missing from the configurator which was there 2 years ago is the ability to show the selected deviated stitching and deviated seat centers.

I think it might be new for the MY 2023 that the shift **** top inlay is now shows the shift pattern in red. At least that is what is showing in the configurator.

Totally agree. Every time we start a new project at work (like a new or upgraded program) the main question is "What problem are you trying to solve?" Not sure what this does better than the current configurator. And ditto that scrolling is for the birds

The red inlay pattern for the manual shift **** was updated earlier this year in the current configurator. Question is why did they feel a change was needed here?

I was part of a focus group that got to demo the configurator a few months ago. It was pretty cool, I got to give my feedback and play with it for an hour, got $100 buck for my time. I think its a big upgrade and visually shows the options well.

When I configure a Targa 4S, I see there is a new option called: Porsche Vehicle Tracking System Plus (PVTS Plus). Wonder what that is.
